On our trip from Page, AZ to Bryce Canyon we took Cottonwood Rd through Grand Staircase Escalante Ntl Monument. Kodachrome Basin is right there as you come out of GSENM. The spires are nice, but Shakespeare Arch is no more. Imagine being there when it...More

A beautiful, uncrowded spot, the park has delightful walks and scenic spots. For us, though, the highlight was the campsite. Spacious, shaded; the cleanest showers and restrooms that we've come across. The only drawback is the bugs. Hosts of them. But at least they disappear...More

A lovely park, really quiet and out of the way. You have to walk round a short trail to see anything so there are no tour buses! Has a campsite and parking for RVs if that’s your thing. There are various trails and we hiked...More

Not too many people here in early April so trail was fairly empty. It's all about geological features -- hoodoos, slot canyons, red rocks, mounds of sulphur, canyon walls. Very doable for mountain bikes, which are allowed and trails are graded.

If you are doing Highway 12 I would highly recommend taking the 9 mile very scenic drive from Cannonville which is paved all the way to Kodachrome Basin State Park. If you have limited time and mobility the nature trail is a must. It is...More

Coming from crowded Bryce Canyon, this place was a welcome relief to do some hiking and enjoy the scenery without hundreds of people on the trails. We hiked the Panorama Trail and only saw one person on a bike on the entire loop. Lots of...More

You can see several different pipes from your car. We drove the roads in the park and took pictures. That day it was very hot, so we barely even got out.
