Ok, you must climb up nearly 200 steps to get to the top, but it's well worth the effort. The view is fantastic, and you become mesmorized and just want to stay. Next best thing to Mt Bonnell in Austin, and it's FREE!

I didn't make it all the way to the top but my friends did. I still had a gorgeous view of the area from near the top.

We enjoyed the 218 step hike to enjoy the 360 view of Wimberly. The directions Trip Advisor takes you to are incorrect use (30.0096578, -98.1161210)instead in your GPS or look up La Toya Circle. Parking is limited and is in a neighborhood.

This is a great short hike with a broad expansive view at the top! I did this one daily when pregnant decades ago to stay in shape!

My husband and I came out to this spot because there is a very old, traditional geocache located near the top. not much parking nearby. Stairs to climb to the top. Great views.

Beautiful views of the hill country. 218 steps straight up and straight back down. Worth the hike though, the view at the top is awesome.

You have to drive through a neighborhood to get there. This can make it a little hard to find. Parking for maybe two vehicles. The climb up the stairs is good for a bit of exercise. The view in itself is not worth the hike...More

Old Baldy, near the heart of Wimberley is a great place for hiking. The view from the top is beautiful. After your hke enjoy refreshments at The Lodge at Cypress Falls, minutes away in Woodcreek.

We went here on an overcast day. I recommend wearing tennis shoes & comfortable clothing to hike the 200 steps. You can stop along the way & rest in between climbing the steps. There is a small area at the bottom to park that can...More

Yes it's open. It is a scenic lookout and not a location that would have phones or restrooms. It is somewhat confusing to find because it is in a neighborhood. To locate it I followed the directions others had shared and put... More

Old Baldie or lookout mountain is a public area. Just drive there and walk up the steps. There isn't a booth or anything that someone works at. It's just a lookout area for Wimberley.
