Exceptionally beautiful place. Great energy. The fact that they limit it to 200 people keeps it peaceful and stress free. We went on a Saturday in August and arrive at 9:00 AM. There were already about 20 people in line ahead of us. They let us in right before 10. Lots and lots of shaded places to set up camp... More

This is a sweet piece of Texas and what makes Austin and the Hill Country so appealing. A beautiful landscape, the gnarled trees, the pristine River, in this case Cypress Creek, perfect for swimming and picnicking. It is necessary to arrive early to insure entrance as it is controlled capacity. It probably works well for two shifts, morning and afternoon,... More

The Blue Hole is even nicer now since they remodeled the grounds several years ago. I even noticed more expansion to include hiking trails and soccer fields. We were here to swim since it felt like 120 degrees out. Such a beautiful place. Big Cypress trees overhanging the creek where you swim. Cold, clear, spring fed water shallow enough for... More

TIP: Get here early! We arrived early, got a great parking spot, stood in line about 10mins then the park openned and they checked everyone in rather quickly. The park is very clean and well manicured. We pick a lawn spot and then got in the water, slowly. Great for a few hours of fun, relaxation, and cooling off as... More

A friend recommended the Blue Hole while we were in Wimberley. We were told to be very early (like in line at 9) or go late in day. We drove in at 4 and got in line. Park worker told us they were trying to see if more people could enter park. After waiting about 10 minutes we got in.... More

If you have young kids this seems to be a popular spot for families. Don't forget to bring ur water shoes as the creek has a rocky bed. U don't need to make reservations but they close the park when too many ppl are in. Best bet is to call before going to figure out the situation

Been there a few times, once early morning before the crowds arrived just to be able to take pictures. Just love the look of this place, prefer it when it's quiet. Be prepared to wait in summer. Love the fact that they control crowd size.

This is a well maintained watering hole, but it's very, very cold! It's mostly shaded, so there wasn't much for warming up in the sun. It was also very, very crowded as it is summer and a ton of kids there. The kids were enjoying the rope swings a lot, but it's not a place to just go and relax... More

Blue Hole was amazing! After reading the reviews we knew that we probably wouldn't get in after seeing the line of cars in the morning so we took that time to drive over to Jacobs Well, which wasn't far at all. We arrived back around 3pm and drove right in. The park is small which was perfect having 4 kids... More
