Corp of engineer parks are less expensive than state parks. If you have one of those passes that gets you into the National Parks for free it also works for Corp of Engineer Parks. 30&50amp service for your RV 2point hookups and there is a dump station. Bathhouses and boat ramp along with Esquestrian camping and riding trails available. Plenty... More

This is a great place to camp with your horse. Good trails. Sandy trails. Lots of miles of trails. Each campsite Has W/E , tie post, table, lantern pole. Level sites. Some pens Lots of shade. Bathrooms and showers. No shoes required on the trails. The only things that's were negative is stickers are bad and ants are bad.

My family and I stayed Labor Day weekend at McCown Valley Park and had a great time with a camp site that included a screened shelter and was only about 200 ft from the lake shoreline. The facilities are good and well kept.

really nice accommodations - quiet - scenery is beautiful - water is high right now - good boating - watch out for obstacles in the water - Corp Engineers really do not want people on the lake - bring your own food - nothing good in area

This is a park I use for boat launching, having the best ramps on Lake Whitney. The park is consistently clean, well managed, friendly staff.

Nice COE park. We stayed in site 45 by the lake. No shade in the lake loop but that's ok in March. Restrooms ans showers very clean and the park was busy. For Texas summer staying I would recommend the meadow loop - much more shade. No TV reception but decent cell phone. Campers of all kinds here this weekend... More

We enjoyed our stay here. The park had two very nice playgrounds as well as a sand volleyball court, a horseshoe spot and we even noticed some disc golf but couldn't find whether they were connected to a course or just one on a campsite. There is an equestrian side of the park. There are no hiking trails but you... More

Lake Whitney is the best lake in Texas! There are so many places to explore. McCown valley park is a nice, safe place to walk. Facilities are clean and in good order. Boat dock kept up well. Friendly gate attendants. Nice to see the wildlife too

Very comparable to Whitney state park so use the park that is closest to you. The boat ramp was closed due to low water level when we were there so we just hung out at the beach, swam and had a picnic lunch. Buy an annual pass if you plan on visiting multiple times. Very clean and week maintained park.
