About
Clark Gardens Botanical Park welcomes visitors all year long. The breathtaking 35 acre oasis awakens the senses, stirs the spirit and relaxes the mind. From the first spring blossoms to the colorful fall and into the stillness of winter there is a sense of magic. Wheelchair accessible pathways wind through lavish ribbons of color and fragrance. Waterfalls sparkle in the sunlight splashing down to ponds and lakes where black and white swans, along with other waterfowl, glide in the shimmering waters. You may see peacocks strutting, or get a glimpse of blue herons or great egrets swooping down, their huge wingspans casting shadows over the lakes.

Greatly enjoyed my visit to the gardens. Many water features, several waterfalls, and a wide variety of gardens. The chapel is beautiful. I particularly loved all the sculptures and statues throughout the garden. The life size family statues were very well done and captured happy moments of family life. The model train display is the best I have ever seen. The artist who created the dioramas was very talented. I am looking forward to returning here.

I had the good fortune to have visited Clark Gardens during the iris blooming season in the spring. The variety and colors of the numerous iris species were amazing. The property has water features throughout and many places to sit and enjoy the gardens. I was so enchanted by this park that I took a friend back with me the next week to enjoy the blooming iris. This would be a lovely park to visit even if the iris were not in bloom as they have other flowering plants throughout the park.

Visited on a rainy day; able to take about 50 pictures from strategic places without getting camera wet. Beautiful sitting spots and well-kept grounds. Really enjoyed the variety of items. Open on a Holiday weekend. (Able to use strollers if not wet.)

With us being in COVID isolation, there weren't any places open to go out to eat to celebrate. We have visited Clark Gardens just a month ago and knew they would be open. We packed up the picnic basket and off we went to Celebrate the day. They have lovely flowers and places to just sit and relax. We spent several hours enjoying each other, taking pictures, and smelling the flowers. We really enjoy Clark Gardens.

How does a small town like Weatherford ends up with two botanical gardens? This one and Chandor at the other side of town. There is also Lake Mineral Wells State Park nearby. Lots of hiking trails. Bring plenty of energy and water.

What a beautiful place, awesome staff and so much more. It is impossible to put into words just how lovely this place is, and I didn't even get to see all of it due to working a wedding event there this past weekend with Jay Farrell Photography out of Nashville TN.
We had such a great time and the staff we engaged with including the main security guy was awesome. Talk about people on the staff who go out of their way to make sure you're taken care of and if you need anything.
Plus, the upkeep on this place is awesome. If you have never been here, it is a hidden gem for someone from out of State for sure. Loved it here and the Peacock was a great attraction too roaming free owning the place.

Having never heard of Clark Gardens, and living only an hour away, my hopes for a stunning experience were small. However, nothing could be further from the truth. The place was magnificent! The fall leaves were on display, there were plenty of flowers in bloom, and the water features were amazing! Around every corner was another, “Ooh, Ahh” moment. I can’t wait to return in April to see the spring flowers in bloom!

Many trails, a beautiful chapel, a large collection of trees, ducks and fish to feed, a peacock along the way, plenty of plants/flowers to view; overall great experience. I would go back but next time pack a picnic lunch to sit by the water. Really enjoyed this day trip to Weatherfood, TX

I know that most folks are not looking at this sight to find wedding locations, but Clark Gardens is one of limited outdoor wedding venues available in the area. My daughter chose Clark Gardens for her wedding and although it is a lovely location, the wedding coordinator made it such a dreadful experience that it tainted the decision. Many, many times she wished she had chosen a different location.
VENUE CONTRACT - the contract to use the facility is 12 pages long. Granted, I know these days that everyone has to "cover" themselves against law suits, but they should not expect a bride to be a professional wedding planner. They should give a brief highlight of some of the main points and restrictions of the contract so that a bride can easily see and understand if it will meet her expectations. There were so many nitpicky little restrictions that were never discussed when touring the property, that it made dealing with them very challenging and limited her arrangements - such as NO potable water available, NO ice available, things cannot be moved (such as a table that is in the way of the ceremony) without a fee, you can only use certain bartenders that they approve, and on and on.
ATTITUDE - The whole attitude of the event coordinator should be that this is your special day, what can we do to make it what you want it to be. Instead, her attitude when asked about anything was very much "We cannot do that." period. No negotiating, no suggesting options or alternatives. Just "NO!" It made the whole planning process unpleasant rather than a joy. I cannot say enough about how unprofessional and unpleasant the coordinator made this in both verbal as well as written communication. So very sad for such a lovely property.
We dealt with lots of vendors helping with the wedding and they asked us the venue. When we said it was Clark Gardens, they generally just rolled their eyes because they had dealt with them before and knew it was going to be problematic for all of us. That just shouldn't be the case if you are going to be in the wedding venue business.
Again, this is an absolutely gorgeous location for a wedding or gathering for any special occasion, but the unprofessionalism of the event coordinators make this a less than wonderful choice.

Credit cards are no problem. We were so impressed, we bought an annual membership, which is also good for admission in other Texas parks.
