One of the pretties courthouses in Texas, this place is easy to check out and just a beautiful piece of eye candy that was created. Sulphur Springs has a mini version of this courthouse. You can walk around a lot of the inside of this...More

We walked around the building and my friend explained that the architect added interesting faces into the carving. At the beginning of construction he was in love with a woman and carved her beautiful face into the columns. But she cheated on him and the...More

Stunning courthouse, big blocks of granite all around the base. Faces carved in stone on all four corners. Gargoyles for drainage and stone birds on top. Beautifully lit at night and fun to see during the day.

Free parking. Self guided. Well marked and labeled. Inside an old building that was a department store. The two top floors were the masonic Lodge. Lots of textiles.

Claims to be the most photographed courthouse. Not sure how anyone would know that but it is beautiful and the area around it has lots of shops and restaurants. It is quite enjoyable to spend the day exploring the area!

We had an opportunity to walk around the building and read the informational signs. The building has beautiful architecture and a great history. We were not able to get inside but it was worth the time we spent..

Great story behind the architect. Ask at the museum or any local shop owner for info! I love shopping the square. Local people are friendly and I really like shopping there. The courthouse is a beautiful anchor for the downtown area.

It's like walking back in time. One feels they could be setting in a western movie from the 1800's while inside the building especially in a courtroom. Quite amazing. We walked entirely around the building before finding the one entrance - wheelchair ramp area. Was...More

Not sure if they were ever jailed there but they did have plenty of history in town. I have been told that they kept an apartment at the Rogers Hotel in Waxahachie as a hide away. Unfortunately, the Hotel and all of it's... More
