This is a historic site and a key part of Texas history. The visit got off on the wrong foot when the visitors center opened up 20 minutes late because a staff meeting ran late. Very inconsiderate as they know when the park opens. It shows what they think of the visitors. The grounds included a walking tour of the site. The building where the signing occurred was not open (in mtg?). There were signs to show what the village was back in the day. A visit to a farm house from the last Texas Republic was also on the grounds and worth the drive.…

Awesome re-enactment. Good for families and history buffs. Very friendly volunteers. My 6 year-old son worked his into brick making. He LOVED it. After being shown what to do, he made brick for at least an hour. We hope to return some day.

We enjoyed the home of Dr. Anson Jones (president of the Republic of Texas) and the Barrington Farm. Several staff dressed in period costumes are available to answer questions and provide some context. They were all very professional and we enjoyed visiting with them. This is a great introduction for kids to how people lived in the area during the period of 1845. It is a great treasure.…

We enjoyed the park trails and visitor center very much. We missed the Barrington living history farm. Re-enactors in period costume work the farm crops and livestock giving visitors a sense of life in the Republic of Texas! We will soon return for the the farm and the Star of the Republic Museum. …
