After first going to Magnolia, this was a pleasant change. I was there the week after New Years and before Baylor students returned so everything was quiet, uncrowded, and on sale! Wide variety of products. Found a flannel hoodie for $20, cute socks for $4,...More

Wasn’t quite what we expected, but had a truly fun time at the Spice Village. Warm welcome at the entrance, variety of unique and interesting items in some of the shops, pleasant clerks made us so glad we stopped to check out Spice Village.

My husband and I visited Spice Village on a Sunday around 3:30pm. It was a a little bit busy. It's up a flight a stairs, but it is worth it! The staff are friendly, and the store is clean. They have a bunch of things...More

This place is full of awesome stuff, handmade, decor, clothing, jewelry, gifts and more. Some with a hefty price tag, some very affordable. You can spend awhile in here. It was an absolute ball! We had a great time.

I was a bit disappointed with these stores. While there is a huge selection and lots of vendors, I felt the products were all things I could find at hundreds of other gift shops. There was nothing that made them just really special or lovely.

Many people told us about the spice village when visiting Waco, but honestly, we didn’t see the hype. It was described at 60 vendors shopping area, but it was just disorganized stuff thrown everywhere. As someone who loves to shop & usually shops a lot,...More

about a mile, but the free silo trolley picks you up at Spice Village and takes you there and brings you back. The trolley runs every 20 minutes and it's a fun ride

Excellent girlfriend getaway (2 Replies)
The chamber needs to pick up on using West, TX as a girlfriend getaway. I stayed with 10 other friends at a huge airbnb and we did Magnolia Market, the Findery and Spice Village for shopping and ate a different restaurants around West. It worked out great. Not far from DFW and right on 35. Close to shopping and grocery stores, but reasonable lodging and restaurant prices. As a native Texan, having been to West, TX many times throughout my life just to visit bakeries, I would never have...More

Lots of cool things to do and see in West area and in Waco. Waco is booming. Lots of great restaurants. Did you go to Slovacek's in West?. Because of their huge gift shop that is now my West kolache/snack pit stop. How did you Airbnb work out from start to finish? Just curious. Mixed reviews on the vacation rental front these days. We need to discuss West, Waxahachie and Waco as "get off the Interstate" sights. Some goodies are just a few blocks from IH35. Collin Street Bakery is a...More

My trip to Waco (1 Replies)
My sister and I just finished a seven day trip to Texas. Weather was great. We flew into Austin and rented a car. Our first stop was Waco. We are big Fixer Upper fans. In addition to Magnolia Market, we also visited Spice Village, The Findery, Homestead Heritage Shops, Junque in the Trunk and Shades of Shabby. We got to Magnolia early in the morning, so no lines. We stayed at Comfort Suites at 810 Highway I35. Hotel was just fine for the price, lobby breakfast was what you expect. Our...More

Since March, I have taken three different friends to Magnolia Market because they are fans of the show. I agree, I wouldn't make a special trip but Waco is getting more and more interesting as time goes by. I really like The Findery better but the kid friendly play area and food trucks at Magnolia are worth a visit. I am glad you and your sister enjoyed your trip. Thanks for posting.
