This is a small but very intimate little zoo. The exhibits are well maintained and the animals look to be well treated. It concentrates on local Texas wildlife with a few big cats and primates. My son commented to me that this was his favorite zoo. I enjoyed it as well and so will most families with children. Because of... More

For a small zoo, it makes for a pleasant visit. Its small size allows for a more personal experience and the free ranging fowl are a site to see.

The kids had a fun time seeing the animals, especially the reptiles. But the staff could have been more friendly. A couple of ladies leading a summer camp were more fun to learn from than the staff at the Zoo, especially the train conductor who was noticeably grumpy to be taken from his lunch when the train was scheduled to... If you are expecting a big zoo like in Ft. Worth or San Antonio, then you will be disappointed. It is a great zoo for its size. At the time of our visit, the animals seemed well cared for and exhibits were kept clean. The gift shop was on the smaller size but had plenty to tempt kids out of... More

We loved the zoo, it's smaller and doesn't take all day to get through like some of the large city zoos. Because of it's size, you are able to get a little closer to the animals and don't have to fight the crowds. It was perfect for our 2 and 3yo kids, they loved the exhibits and the peacocks walking... Very nice small zoo. Has Texas native animals as well as lions and tigers and leopards. The zoo is clean and well manicured with native flora. The staff is nice, helpful and courteous.

Nice little zoo in the middle of town. Variety of birds and cats and gators and snakes. Pricing is great and affordable for most. $7 and $5.50 for 55 and over. Don't remember kids prices.

First time going and we had a great time at The Texas Zoo. Zoo is small, but my youngest son loved it. Park had plenty of tables to enjoy a picnic.

Had a great visit at the Texas Zoo. Small zoo but perfect for young children. 11 month old loved seeing the animals and the peacocks and other birds walking around freely. No crowds. Would recommend to anyone with young children. Great time!
