One of the first homes in Tyler, Tx. You will get a full tour of the property while listening to the tour guide tell about the first family to occupy the home and the parades they had on that street. Just the details and charm of the house is enough to take your breath away.

I wouldn't call it a grand estate but you do the feel of a really nice working family home. Nice history attached to it. And the docent is dedicated to its history and knowledgable.

I loved the beauty of the house and the furnishings. The people there we wonderful and cared for the house and the preservation of the house. Very refreshing. Keeping the personality of the house and occupants. Would visit again. The fee in nominal and well worth it. I loved the antiques and they are 95% original to the house. A... More

We just visited the McClendon home tour. Very well maintained! Carolyn, our docent, was very knowledgeable. The history of the home very interesting, would recommend definitely to others.

With the ability to tour the house at our own pace, we thoroughly enjoyed our visit. Few people were there, so get on over, pardner!

This is a restored historical site in Tyler. Workmanship is great and it is worth the side trip to view old-time Tyler. Take a camera...we forgot ours, so can't submit photos, but it is well worth seeing.

Last April we were privileged to tour a family home of the friend of a friend that was still alive with memories and possibilites, even though she no longer lived there, having spent her youth there, explaining how she sat at the table doing homework. If you happen to be in Tyler and Ann or her husband Ron are available,... More

They only take cash. I don't have anything else to say because I didn't have the cash to go in but I'm required to write 100 characters. It did look cool, though.

This is a nice afternoon diversion for lovers of old homes or history. The home has been well cared for and one will have an easy time imagining what it might have been like to live there in years past. I recommend this for an impromptu outing.
