About
The Perot Theatre is Texarkana’s cultural icon and hub of local, national, and international entertainment for the region. This historic jewel is listed in the National Register of Historic Places and was named the most beautifully designed theatre in the state of Texas by Architectural Digest in 2018. The beautiful, restored Perot Theatre, located in downtown Texarkana at 3rd and Main St, has been a landmark since 1924 when it opened as the Saenger Amusement Company's "Gateway to the Southwest" theatre. Fully restored by the City of Texarkana, TX in 1979-80, the building is listed in the National Register of Historic Places. Texarkana natives, H. Ross Perot and his sister Bette, through the Perot Foundation, contributed much of the restoration costs in memory of his parents, Mr. & Mrs. Gabriel Ross Perot. In recognition of this contribution, the Texarkana, TX City Council renamed the building - The Perot Theatre.

The Perot Theater is a beautiful example of theaters of the 1920s. It contains many artifacts and reminders from the past, which give the building a very interesting history. The employees are very knowledgeable about the buildings history and architecture and were able to answer all of my questions. I love hearing about how the theater was built during the golden age of theater, later turned into a Paramount movie theater and finally restored to its original glory. I had a great experience and believe this is a must see in Texarkana!

Most of the classic theaters I have toured from the early 1900s were Egyptian Revival or Egyptian Art Deco, but this amazingly restored theater that opened in 1924 is in the Italian Renaissance style. Beautiful gold leafing, relief plaster, Greek Deities and historical displays in glass cabinets upstairs. An amazing Broadway class theater is a hidden gem of the south!

Enjoyed the show but not the rude ushers. Might want to work with them on customer service. Music was great and facility was top notch.

I was not able to find answers to my questions regarding online tickets.
does the system offer email tickets?
You asked for mailing address
Billing address but I was not certain if I would have gotten the tickets for a weekend show on time.
I will try to go to the ticket counter even though the hours were for Mon thur Friday.
I will update if we can, in fairness.

Been visiting the Perot with my family for over 30 years! It's just beautiful! We've enjoyed everything from magicians to musicals and ballets! If you are able you should definitely find a way to make it there! I plan to share the experience with my children as well!

Texarkana's Perot Theater was part of the Sanger Theater chain that had theaters throughout the South dating back to the 1920's. This jewel of a theater has been beautifully restored to that period.
It was wonderful to be able to recently attend a Pops Concert in Remembrance and Thanksgiving by the Texarkana Symphony Orchestra which featured the Texarkana Symphony Orchestra as well as Chorus and Dramatic Readers with patriotic selections in a salute to America's veterans. This very well done Patriotic Celebration had special meaning to me since both of my parents were World War II Veterans.
Finally, I just want to mention that as an ex-New Yorker who had season tickets to the Philharmonic over the years, Texarkana's Symphony Orchestra, conducted by the Marc-Andre Bougie, provides world class entertainment to those fortunate enough to be able to attend!

Our church senior adult group toured The Perot as part of a recent day trip to Texarkana. The Perot reminded me of some of the beautiful concert houses of Europe. David Murphy was an excellent tour guide and helped us plan our excursion for the day.

Anytime you can get the box seats go for it! The Box seats are a lot more spacious and there are typically 4 seats in each box. The angle is a little different viewing everything but the room that you get is worth the trade. Beautiful decor and excellent venue. Brings back a feel of the 50's / 60's. The stairways are a little narrow so be careful if going up or down them.

Several types of events are held at the Perot. It is a very elegant music stage where concerts and symphony music is played. Excellent seating, nice balcony, and bathrooms are very well kept.

The main tourist attractions are located downtown. The area is easy to get to, as you just drive south on Stateline Avenue. On the east side of the street is Arkansas. On the west side is Texas.
Near 4th and Pine streets, is the Perot Theatre. It was originally the Saenger Theatre. Ross Perot, the multi-millionaire who ran for president in 1992 and 1996, paid to refurbish the theatre in 1980. It was then renamed the Perot Theatre, in honor of his parents. The Perots were Texarkana, AR, natives.
The theatre hosts musicals, symphonies and concerts. BB King was there a few days before my trip there.
A small statue sits on the second level of the Perot in honor of Ross' brother, Gabriel. He died at age three.
The theatre was once a movie house. During the days of segregation, whites and African-Americans had different entrances, restrooms and seating areas. The African-Americans had to sit in the balcony area.
The film room still sands in the theatre. Our guide said it would be too expensive to remove it.
An interesting note is that across the street from the Perot Theatre is a half-block long mural of the great composer Scott Joplin. Joplin, a native of the area, was known for his ragtime music. My colleague and I wondered if Joplin would have been allowed to perform at the Saenger when it was segregated. Our guess is he couldn't have.

I called the theater to get tickets & picked up @Will-Call. You can also pick out/buy tickets online or go to the Box Office to pre-buy tickets.

Can someone tell me where parking is for the Perot Theater in Texarkana? Street parking, public parking lots (not business owned with towaway signs? I see very little designated parking for the theater and we are not taking the limo to the show tonight. We are from Plano TX and going to this venue for the first time ever.

So sorry I did not see this in time to be of help. I hope you enjoyed your evening at the Perot, and appreciated why the historical theater has been named “most beautiful in Texas” by ARCHITECTURAL DIGEST.

I apologize for not responding sooner. I had not idea I could get messages on here. Orchestra O and N are 2 row back from the middle of the floor. They are excellent seats. If you go to our website, you can view the seating chart. Just pick a show to view as if you were going to purchase tickets. It will pull the chart up for you. As always, please call us at 903-792-4992 if we can be of further assistance. Thank you.

When we went there were no regularly scheduled tours. We went into the office area and visited with the folks who just offered the tour. It was very informal.
