Far Flung is THE place for excursions around Big Bend National Park and environs. If you don't have a high-clearance 4x4 vehicle, Far Flung is a MUST. My wife and two sons did the 6-hr Jeep tour of Big Bend on one day and saw sights down rough, gravelly roads we never would have been able to reach, notably Santa... More

Spent a wonderful afternoon on the Rio Grande. I wanted to kayak but due to water levels we were put in canoes. Last minute booking, not really the right gear, but we did it, and it was really worth the money. Would love to go back and do a longer excursion.

The jeep was unavailable after being told it was. They disappointed my family. I originally requested one of two dates, but was told to contact FFOC closer to the date due to the jeep undergoing maintenance. I stayed in contact every few days so we could best plan our trip. My wife, daughter, and I planned to use the jeep... More

Awesome experience. Such nice people! This was a great trip. Four women traveling together and we always felt safe. The casitas are coco table and clean. Probably the best. Must use them if in this area!!

My mom and I took the 1/2 day canoe trip today down down the Rio Grande with Far Flung and it was awesome!!! Due to the heat (duh, Texas summer) the water was a little low so we had to walk our canoe through a few places but WELL worth it!! The guides were friendly and very informative, explaining the... There are so many excellent reviews of this place that it is, almost, painful to submit this because our experience was so different...but this stay was nothing short of heartbreakingly painful. We visited here to make my husband's 50th Birthday special. He always had wanted to see and experience Big Bend National Park and given that we live in Northern... More

We took a half day river canoe trip with Far Flung last week. Staff was great -- helpful, knowledgeable, patient with people on the trip who needed extra assistance. They did a great job prepping the group, giving instructions before we got into the water, and emphasized safety throughout the trip. We stopped for a nice snack break about half-way... More

We spent some days visiting that area, so we took advantage of the "Casitas" to stay there. They are amazing! So beautiful, cozy and well structures.. Nice surprise indeed. Useless to say, we also visited Terlingua ghost town and took part in a rafting experience on the river. 100% valid, we will come back.

We have used Far Flung for a canoe trip on the Rio Grande in January, and a jeep ride in the desert west of Terlingua in June. Both done professionally with knowledgeable guides.

Casita's here are WAY superior to Chicos lodge in the park. Great place to stay while visiting Big Bend NP. Gas BBQ and ice machine were clean, worked great and much appreciated!
