My mom and I took the 1/2 day canoe trip today down down the Rio Grande with Far Flung and it was awesome!!! There are so many excellent reviews of this place that it is, almost, painful to submit this because our experience was so different...but this stay was nothing short of heartbreakingly painful. We visited here to make my husband's 50th Birthday special. He always had wanted to see and experience Big Bend National Park and given that we live in Northern... More

We took a half day river canoe trip with Far Flung last week. Staff was great -- helpful, knowledgeable, patient with people on the trip who needed extra assistance. They did a great job prepping the group, giving instructions before we got into the water, and emphasized safety throughout the trip. We stopped for a nice snack break about half-way... More

We spent some days visiting that area, so we took advantage of the "Casitas" to stay there. They are amazing! So beautiful, cozy and well structures.. Nice surprise indeed. Useless to say, we also visited Terlingua ghost town and took part in a rafting experience on the river. 100% valid, we will come back.

We have used Far Flung for a canoe trip on the Rio Grande in January, and a jeep ride in the desert west of Terlingua in June. Both done professionally with knowledgeable guides.

Casita's here are WAY superior to Chicos lodge in the park. Great place to stay while visiting Big Bend NP. Gas BBQ and ice machine were clean, worked great and much appreciated!

We took the full day tour through the Santa Elena canyon. It was fabulous. Our guides were very good about helping us through the shallow areas and told us about the canyon itself. The trip did require some paddling and walking during the shallow parts, but was worth it. I would total recommend the full day trip if it is... More

We booked a full day float trip and were disappointed that it was moved to half a day because of water levels. It's that time of the year. The rain season is during the summer months. We floated in the state park for half a day and it was a nice float. We enjoyed very much. I would recommend to... More

I went on the Old Ore trip. It is a long one but well worth it. I went with a guide (Ed) who was very knowledgeable on the area. Lunch was included and was very nice. If you have the time you will be very happy if you take this trip. Fossils, rock formations, wildlife, and old ruins are all... More

We had Ed as our guide and he was very professional and knowledgeable. The tour itself was really interesting and great fun ( including a 74 year old and 2 kids 9&11). I would definitely recommend it as a different way to see Big Bend. It lasted a little over the advertised 3 hours and we travelled approx 22 miles.... More
