We did a jeep tour in October. Our guide Randy was awesome! He knew everything there was to know about the history, plants and geology of the park. This is a great way to see a lot of the park in a short amount of time. We also did a rafting tour, which was an amazing time. The river and... More

We stayed in the casitas for a few days before going into the national park to stay. The casitas were nice and roomy, with a small kitchenette, two beds, nice grounds and the location is convenient to the national park, the state park, and Terlingua/Study Butte. We took the jeep tour around the western portion of the national park; our... More

My wife and I visited Big Bend for the first time and decided to take the all day jeep tour offered by Far Flung Outdoor. What a great decision that turned out to be! Our jeep tour guide, Randy, showed us the back trails with fantastic vistas, taking time to tell us in detail about all of the flora, fauna... More

We were visiting from Sheffield England , with four Texan friends. We came to Far Flung from Big Bend , and it was really lovely . The accommodation is super , the couple doing the BBQ's really welcoming and do fantastic sandwiches . Not too far to Terlingua and great food at the Starlight Theatre and the Emergency Response team... More

This was a wonderful trip down 12 miles of the Rio Grande in the big bEnd state park adjacent to big bend national Park. This vendor makes a daily decision as to where to put it in based on water levels. The sense I got is that the premier location is Santa Elena Canyon, but the water level was too... More

My husband and I planned a trip to Big Bend 1 month before we arrived, with my Sister-in-law and her husband, we made last minute reservations here at Far Flung Outdoor Casitas. We read the reviews, we looked at images online and had pretty high expectations- to be completely honest this place passed our expectations! It almost seemed too good... More

Took the full day tour of big bend national park in a jeep. The jeep we were in was good however it needed work to get the front seat and safety belt to work properly. Our guide was knowledgeable but not an expert. Because of this I lowered the rating. The jeep seating is good but the people who sit... More

What a great day! We floated the Rio Grande through Colorado Canyon. The scenery was spectacular. The staff, particularly Thomas, was very helpful and knowledgeable about the history, surrounding area, etc. Deja was also very nice, and we enjoyed having her along. Since we chose the all day float trip, a nice lunch was included about halfway through the trip.... More

What a wonderful get a way ! The accommodations at Las Casitas were super. Our room was spacious, clean and had a porch complete with an oversized rocking chair. Our overnight river raft trip gave me a new appreciation of the beauty of the canyons as well as The Rio Grand. Our guides; Reed, Thomas and Jared kept us safe,... More
