About
I'm Chris, a guide of 20 years in Terlingua TX. During certain summers I've guided in places from West Virginia to Hawaii. I have studied, learned, and shared interp and experiences from all these places. I am WAFA (Wilderness Advanced First Aid) and CPR certified. I have enjoyed sharing and teaching about flora, fauna, geology, history, paleontology, and even my personal life. I enjoy learning from the many guests I have shared time with. I started Get Lost Tours because of this and much more.

Chris gave us a great tour and spent a night in his front yard with our motorhome. We had a great time and learned a lot about Big Bend Nat'l Park, history and geology. We would recommend future Big Bend travelers go when they have had some rain. The desert is much more beautiful with a little color. Chris gave us a six hour tour during which he led us to great vistas and pointed out great features of the rock structures that have developed that we would have never found on our own. It is a long drive but a very unique place on our Southern border.

Chris has been leading tours for our tour company for at least 8-10 years. His knowledge of the Big Bend area is mind-boggling! He’s the real deal—he lives in the area and has had experiences that most of us only read about in books. His love for this rugged, remote country is evident in the passion with which he speaks. The travelers I take to Big Bend are always in awe of his knowledge and delightful presentation. I can’t imagine a guide that could begin to do as wonderful a job as Chris!

Chris was a fantastic tour guide. He has a great depth of knowledge of local history, geology, and ecology which added a great deal interest to our tour. He accommodated all our needs and request and we thought his pricing was more than reasonable. If you want to see Big Bend National Park in a completely new light don't miss a tour with Chris.

I enjoy doing what I do. And have many people to thank; from my local friends here, to my friends everywhere. And I thank the guests that I get to share my desert home with.

We were very fortunate to come across Chris on Harvest Host. Traveling in a van we would have never been able to go back country. We didn’t even know we needed too. You want to see a side of the park that most people miss then hire Chris and enjoy the ride. We went off road and avoided crowded trails plus we saw petroglyphs, different plants and amazing views. We also had a very knowledgeable guide. If you really want to experience Big Bend without the headache of renting a four wheel drive then do yourself a favor and book Get Lost Tours with Chris. This was one of the most enjoyable experiences of our year long travel across the USA. Thanks Chris.

Seeing Big Bend thru our guides eyes made for quite the adventure!
It was our anniversary and the tour was the perfect way to enjoy the park. My husband really enjoyed being able to ride in comfort and not worry about driving! We had been 3 times before, but this trip was unique and gave us a lot insight in the history of the area!
Booking was easy and the vehicle was comfortable. Great way to enjoy Big Bend!

Wow, what can we say but Chris and Get Lost Tours is the only way to go if you are visiting Big Bend National Park. This was our 1st time visiting Big Bend National Park and Chris did such a great job taking us to some amazing locations, sightseeing and gave us a wealth of information. Chris had a great amount of information, answered questions, took photos and laughed and joked with us. It was a great trip and Chris (Get Lost Tours) was invaluable as we visited this massive sized National Park. If you haven’t been to Big Bend you need to go and I would highly recommend you contact Chris at Get Lost Tours.

We had a wonderful time with Chris. He brought us to the most beautiful vistas and entertained us all along the route with tales of local history, his knowledge of all the natural beauty that surrounded us. This is a "MUST DO" ! If you have made it to this this neck of TX, do yourself a favor....do NOT miss a personal tour with Chris!

What a wonderful tour of an amazing part of the USA with Chris - a knowledgeable, smart, first-class individual. He seems to not only know every nook of Big Bend, but its geological history and speaks with passion about all those who came before us.

The hiking was just great, and Chris can design a trip for those with little hiking experience or for serious backpackers.

Plus, Chris is a good listener, and picked up on particular interests of mine about Big Bend - so the tour was not just rote and routine.

Don't miss this experience!

The last off road experience was over 10 years ago in Sedona in an open jeep. It was fun but very dusty. I couldn't get all that dust out for days. At Get Lost Tours I road in style in a H3 Hummer of all things. It was thrilling and the scenery was spectacular. As a truck passed us I was glad we had windows to roll up. My sinus' thank you. My guide, Chris was knowledgeable about the area since he has lived in the desert for 20 years. I learned a lot about the fauna and flora of the Big Bend Area. When you're in the area I would recommend this tour because it wasn't canned. If I wanted to stop for pictures, no problem. Chris will treat you to a personal experience.

Chris was totally awesome. We did his off grid tour which included a 4X4 trip up a beautiful road. He was very knowledgeable about plants and the area as well as very open with sharing all his off grid experience. We had a great time. He takes it very slow and is very experienced so the ride was super smooth in his Hummer H3. If you get a chance to book a tour with Chris you won't regret it. We made an instant connection and hope to tour with him again someday.
