While staying in Houston with family, we decided to go here to spend a day at a beach based on the good reviews. Drive down was good. Surfside beach in general is pretty run down. Jetty Park is also not too good. Restrooms were disgusting,...More

Great free spot. You can fish, but fishing off the Jetty is not easy. Some people do it successfully, but we are not experienced and the wind blew quite a bit. Lost our bait and not fish. Fun though!

Had a great play area for kids over looking the water. Nice place to relax or fish. Was excited to see the dolphins.

I enjoyed it. There was a lot of people, but all were respectful of each other and the children running around and playing. Lots of serious fishing noted. It was a wonderful experience. I recommend it.

Bring a chair and an ice chest to sit on the jetty to enjoy the view as well as the fisherman. If you wait around you may even catch dolphins swimming nearby.

You can walk along the beach at night and pick up all you want. Or, if you are looking for a café, there is one a few blocks east of the highway that crosses the bridge.
