- chateau57164 contributionsWhat a chilled out place!A lovely Sunday afternoon! We opted for the (short ) tour and winetasting. Very good indeed - a mixture of wine styles which went down well with our party of six. We took a couple of platters for lunch to go with the wine and sat outside in the shade - very chilling. The live music was a peasant addition.Visited September 2023Traveled with familyWritten October 20, 2023
- Clive35142 contributionsGreat afternoon sipping wineWe spent a sunny warm afternoon sipping wine on the large outdoor patio. The grounds are lovely. The wine servers were super-friendly and knowledgeable. There were numerous wines in the menu, sure to fit any palate. Their tasting offers 6 options and the servers offered great suggestions. The charcuterie board was a nice addition. We ended up joining the wine club and buying several bottles which resulted in a great discountVisited December 2023Traveled as a coupleWritten December 31, 2023
- Michelle W34 contributionsGreat wines, knowledgeable staff, beautiful groundsMy husband and I did a wine tasting with our friends. The $25 fee per person allows six generous pours. There was an excellent variety of wines to choose from-something for every palate really. When we finished tasting we strolled the gift shop, which contained wines as well as lavender products (lavender is grown on site), and other odd items (beauty products, apparel etc). There is an indoor and an outdoor bar, picnic space and a venue available for weddings/private events. We stuck around for the winery tour. The guide takes you through the process of wine making from grape to bottle, as well as a history of the founder of the vineyard and his family. Well worth the time. Relaxing way to spend a few hours. This warms our hearts! We will share with our team! - njoireading247Johns Creek, Georgia460 contributionsLovely afternoon with wine, music and the sunThis was a great stop with outdoor seating and live music. We bought six tastings and enjoyed some more than others, but the cab sav was delicious. Bottles are a bit steep but if you want a remembrance, get at least one. There is indoor tastings too, but it was such a nice day we stayed outside. Order your charcuterie board early as they are in great demand.Thank you for coming to visit us! - Jackie W1 contributionElevated experienceWe did the elevated tour and tasting and had a wonderful time with Roy—what a fun, knowledgeable tour guide. We could have spent all afternoon enjoying his company and great conversation. The wine was some of the best we tried in Fredericksburg and the pace of the tour gave us time to enjoy and discuss each wine, we were not rushed. Overall a great experience and we look forward to coming back.Visited May 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten May 11, 2024
- Pat K1 contributionAwesome food and wine pairing!!!I would say this is one of the best wineries in the area. The grounds are gorgeous and the staff sooo accommodating. If you can try one of their wine and food pairings. We did a luncheon and it was amazing!! The food was delicious and just enough portion size to not feel bloated all day. Landry and her staff were so pleasant and the table setting out of a magazine. They provided such a great afternoon event. We really enjoyed the red wines and to my shock the beer drinker really liked the wine.Visited May 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten May 25, 2024
- Mark C40 contributionsBeautiful setting with good vintagesThe winery tour was very interesting. The wines also were good. We purchased several bottles after the wine tasting. Some very good information about the wines was provided during the tasting session. The only drawback is they do not allow customers to keep the glass used in the tasting. The cost is $25/person and you get to sample six wines (about two to three good sips each) so the cost more than covers the amount of wine consumed. It seems a little cheap on their part not to permit the glass to be taken home especially since it has their logo on it (advertising). Of course, they will sell you a glass for $10.Visited June 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten June 29, 2024
- Jessica F4 contributionsPhenomenal- Best Wine & Experience in the Wine CountryMy partner and I had the pleasure of getting a tour from the wine ambassador, Roy. He did an absolutely phenomenal job! Very knowledgable and truly loyal to the Becker brand. He viewed the brand almost as if it was his own family. It was exciting to see and hear his passion of this incredible wine and history from the beginning to what it is today. He was such a welcoming host and didn’t even need to sell the wine because it was the best we had had in the Fredericksburg area. We can’t wait to visit again in the near future!!! Thanks Roy & Becker Vineyards.Visited August 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten August 20, 2024
- malazan824Morrisville, North Carolina28 contributionsBecker Vineyards living up to all expectationsFor those of you who know us, wine and wine tastings are important to us. During COVID, when everything shut down, we no longer had our weekend tastings. As a substitute, we started watching virtual tastings. One of our favorites was from Becker Vineyards. Dr. Becker and his crew (his staff: Bobby, Nichole, Katelyn, and John) became a part of our weekly Wednesday night wine tastings. To this day, they are still hosting their tastings! Fea and I always mentioned that if we ever traveled to Texas, we would stop by the vineyard. That time finally arrived, and they lived up to all our expectations. The tasting was wonderful and on par to the wine we’ve had from Napa Valley. We also received great service from Roy, Paula, and Ginny, who gave us a fantastic tasting, a tour of the vineyard, and an excellent charcuterie board. We weren't expecting to personally meet the folks from the virtual tastings. At most, we thought we might see them in passing during our visit. However, after Paula heard our story, she said, "Let’s see if Bobby is around." Sure enough, he stopped by to greet us! Then came Nichole, followed by Katelyn, and finally John! All of them took time from their busy schedules to say hello and let us know they appreciated us. In turn, we got to express how much they meant to us, and how thankful we are for all their hard work providing the virtual tastings. I could keep going on and on about how amazing today was, but I'll just end by saying: if you’re ever in Austin, drive out to Becker Vineyards. You won’t regret it!Visited September 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten September 13, 2024

Becker was the first winery we stopped at on the second day of our two day winery tour. It's a little more than a mile off the beaten path (i.e. 290) and is an absolutely breathtaking estate. Out of the seven wineries we visited during our trip, Becker easily was the most beautiful of all. We were one of the first visitors to arrive that day and they were a little unorganized from having a function the night prior. They don't do reservations for small parties so we were walk-ins and paid $25pp for their basic wine experience. For $25pp you get a free glass and 6 tickets to use for sampling (we were also greeted with a sampling of their rose when we arrived). This was the only winery we went to that used a ticket system. I'm not a fan because it really limits your experience - felt like going to a bar vs. a wine tasting. Additionally, the young man who served us knew very little about the wines or the winery. Their wine was on par with the other wineries in the area but the "tasting" experience overall was underwhelming.
Becker also provides complimentary tours of their facility on the hour (no reservations needed). During the tour, you visit their crush pad, fermentation room, barrel room, bottling room, and library. We found this tour to be more informative than Grape Creek (which we had to pay for) and that helped make up for the tasting experience.
Since we had some time before our next stop, we purchased a bottle of rose and spent the time enjoying their beautiful estate - at $25 this was a much better value than paying $16 each for a glass of wine.
Overall Becker Vineyards is probably one of the most exquisite wineries in the area and is recommended if you want to stop and a have a glass of wine (or a bottle) and get a free tour of their facility but their tasting experience was underwhelming compared to others.

Our experience at Becker Vineyards was educational, delicious and so incredibly comfortable! When you look around in Fredericksburg its not hard to tell that the wine business is booming. There’s a vineyard on every corner. What comes with this is a lot of competition. We tried a few other vineyards while in town but nothing compared to Becker Vineyards!
Firstly, aside from the absolutely delicious wine, we were served by an extremely knowledgeable person by the name of Kyle. Kyle wasn’t pushy nor hard to understand in regards to the descriptions of each wine as we carefully sampled a few selected reds and whites. Kyle was very kind, knowledgeable and very easy to talk to!
If you are on the fence about which vineyard to visit during your stay in Fredericksburg, make a call to Beckers Vineyards ask if Kyle is working! If so, get in there! You will not regret it! Not only will your time be spent sampling a few of their delicious wines paired with some delicious small bites but you will also be met with a kind and knowledgeable wine enthusiast named Kyle!

I will say that the ground are very, very lovely. The people who work there seem very nice as well. We went during the middle of the week so the crowd was minimal. We got a bottle of wine for $30 (the chardonnay), and I can tell you that it was the best chardonnay that we ever had. I went back up to the counter and ordered a glass of petite syrah. Admittedly, I did not look at the prices. I assumed that since a bottle was about $30, that a glass should not be that much. With tax, it was over $16. Seriously over $16 for a glass of wine is ridiculous. I have been all over Europe and had some of the finest wines in the world. I never came even close to paying $16 for a glass of that wine.
Again, the grounds are lovely and they do allow outside food if you want to picnic. I highly recommend, though, that you just buy by the bottle as it will be a lot cheaper than buying by the glass.

What a beautiful scenery and facility in which to taste incredible wines and a very affordable experience. We sampled 13 red and white varietals at $25. Of 9 highly-rated wineries in the valley that we sampled, this was our absolute favorite and we highly recommend it to those who want good wines and good times. The best part was the warm and sincere welcome and hosting we experienced from all of the staff as well as the informative lessons we received. A must on your list.

Seven is too many for a wine tasting. Not something I thought I would say, but when the wine lacks a good variety seven is too many to find ones to taste. It was truly a painful experience close to the end trying to force the last of the wine down, so I felt like I got my money's worth. The person pouring the wine was scary, she was sharing too much of her own experiences rather than giving a good explanation of the wine. Would not recommend, will not ever go back. None of the wines warranted even wanting to buy a bottle.

So we read great reviews on Becker and we went there because they accept "walk-ins". There were 3 of us. For $80.00 each of us got 6 golden tickets for tastings. You actually a "welcome" tasting so you end up with 7. First off, there are not nearly enough staff to serve the tasting samples compared to the people wanting them. They could be more informative about the wines etc... after we got a tasting we had to wait and wait for the next one, again, not enough staff to meet the number of guests. Outside was nice. Personally, we did not really like any of the wines. I ended up giving away our tickets to another couple.

I like Becker Vineyards wine and I frequently buy it at the liquor store or grocery store, but this week I made my first visit to the winery in Stonewall with some family. The hill country setting and gardens are beautiful, as are the facilities, but the $30/person price was outrageous for the tiny amount of wine we tried in the mixed white/red flight. I've been to quite a number of wineries in several states over the years, but this was the stingiest. With so many other wineries to try in the Texas Hill Country, I will not be returning, but I will still buy their wine from time to time.

Thank you for coming out to visit us! We pour 1 ounce size pours because of the beverage commission recommendation. The seated wine flight tasting is $30 + tax which includes 5 wine samples and the souvenir Riedel wine glass with our Becker Vineyards logo. The 6th sample is the complimentary sample of the day. We are sorry we disappointed you. Thank you for the feedback.

Y'ALL (guests) BE NICE!!! Some of you should be ashamed of yourselves for how you treat the staff who actually show up to work to help you have a nice day in the Texas Wine Country.
Kudos to the Becker Vineyards staff, who despite being very obviously short staffed, provided the best service possible and a wonderful wine tasting experience. Tanya was absolutely fantastic and we enjoyed the wines, the service and the beautiful atmosphere.
Great job Becker staff, y'all are doing awesome and you are appreciated!! Thank you for all of your hard work. I'm so sorry some people can't follow the rules or can't be more patience and feel like being ugly is going to get them their way.
**Example**We visited this past Saturday and were a group of 18 who made reservations (pretty obvious, if you can read, according to Becker's website that a group over 7 people needs to have a reservation). We came in behind a group of maybe about 13 (bachelorettes) that did not have reservations and were just berating this poor hostess (I would have been in tears if I was this hostess) because they were not getting their way even though the hostess was trying her best to accommodate them given the size of the group with no reservations. The hostess had to go get a manager and they continued to be rude and were bullying the manager like temper tantrum throwing toddlers. We were sat at our reservation table by the very nice hostess while the manager dealt with the rude group, so I don't know the outcome, but I hope they were refused service based on how they were acting. I'm sure this is one of many verbal abuse encounters the poor staff has to put up within a day from guests. Y'ALL BE NICE!!

We went there on July 4th after being blocked by the parade downtown. From the reviews and the lengthy write ups our expectations were set high. We were disappointed.
The lady greeting us was friendly, could not really explain the wine club, what we could expect from the tasting, nor which wines we could taste. So we bought our wine tasting tickets, our complimentary tasting of Rose, and sat out on the porch overlooking the beautiful grounds.
When we wanted to taste the wines we had to go up to the bar, give them a ticket and get the next wine in the list we had chosen. (Big plus here - there are a large number of wines to choose from). Unfortunately the pours were under average and while the stories of how each wine got its name was interesting, the actual wine knowlege could use some help.
Overall the best add on was the free hot dogs. After all it was the 4th of July.
We left without buying any wine. Disappointed that the wine club shipments are not able to be customized. You get what wines Becker wants to send you. So if you have preferences maybe this is not the best wine club to join.
The prices at the vineyard are $7-12 higher than we can buy the same wines in town at retail.
What we liked best was the grounds, the relaxed seating, and just having a good day talking with people. Overall it seemed overly structured and commercial. We rated it 8 out of 8 of the wineries we visited this trip.

Hello from the winery! Our new staff has been getting more wine knowledge under their belts. Our limited production wines - the Reserve - are more expensive than our non-reserves you see at the retailer. In our Wine Club, we do now have customization on the 12 bottle membership. Thank you for sharing your feedback so we can make improvements.

We made a point to visit Becker and we weren’t disappointed. The wines are consistent and always satisfying. We had our lunch on the patio and enjoyed a bottle of Prairie Rotie, which is their take on a Pinot Noir. It was light, refreshing and had a good nose and taste. It went well with our sandwiches and was an overall great experience. The wine host was attentive and provided a lot of information about Becker and their wines. Thanks!
