John was amazing.
So nice and informative.
We shared a tasting and found some new favorites.
These newbie wineries in Fredericksburg are knocking it out of the park. Try the newbies people. Don't just stick to grape creek etc.

I was beyond blown away when visiting this family vineyard. Napa quality wines right outside San Antonio TX! And the service was incredible. It is obvious the owners and staff take pride in their craft. I would highly recommend a visit when in the area.

We had a wonderful experience at Arrowhead Creek Vineyards. The family told us the history as well as gave us a golf cart tour of the place. They were so warm and welcoming! The wines were delicious and the atmosphere was gorgeous and relaxing--right beside the Pedernales River. The family recently purchased this property and are making a go of wine-making. Please help make their dream come true, you will not be disappointed! Best winery we visited all weekend!

Do not waste your time. First, you must park almost 1/2 mile from the tasting area. In Texas heat, you will feel it. Second, they do not allow you to bring your pets, not even if you want to sit outside.
I have lived here for over 25 years and have visited every winery along U.S. 290 and beyond. I am a member of 5 of them. There are two types of wineries in Central Texas. Those that are warm and welcoming and those that are snotty and pretentious. Arrowhead is the latter, very snotty and pretentious. There are dozens of other wineries within a 10-mile radius that offer a better experience. Why not go there? I know I will.

We were surprised when we visited this winery. The wine is great and our server, Allyssa was delightful. Beautiful scenery with great tasting wine - it doesn't get any better! Highly suggest visiting if you're in the area.
