Disappointed
Jul 2021 • Couples
My fiancé and I drove out to taste wines for our wedding dinner. We were very disappointed to be turned away, 45 minutes before their closing time due, even though not busy, to their rules of not serving guests for tastings less than one hour before closing.

Disappointed, we left to search for other Texas wines suitable for our wedding.

Ask for Erik!

Erik (with a "K") was our host to a tasting and he was so much fun and and very informative. He made the experience very special. Wine is always good at Pedernales Cellars.

Great views, people and wine.
Mar 2021
While visiting friends in Austin we paid a visit to Pedernales Cellars, a family-run boutique winery, in the Texas hill country. As they were members of this vineyard wine club, upon arrival we bypassed the tasting room and were escorted by a very knowledgeable and friendly young lady, to the small wine members club building. Where sitting in the shaded of its small covered patio, we enjoyed a bottle or two of their Texas-made tempranillo.
The view is quite spectacular, as most of their 140 acres overlook the graceful sweeping surrounding hill country.
There is a pick-nick area under the trees, with iron tables and chairs.

TIP: This is a great place to take the whole family as there is lots of room for the
children to play.

Great wine with a view
Apr 2021
Even though we didn't have reservations, they were able to work us in for a tasting. The wine is great, the staff is friendly, and the tasting room has a beautiful view. I would recommend visiting but do try to make a reservation as they are trying to distance people and stay Covid safe.

Nice views but overall just okay
Mar 2021 • Couples
The views were good; the wine was fine; the food was positively mediocre. We ordered a cheese plate and prosciutto and it literally came wrapped in plastic similar to what you could buy at a grocery store. I wouldn't go back. The service was also just okay. I think the views were overrated - nice but certainly not breathtaking.

Had a great wine tasting experience at Pedernales Cellar. Erick "with a K" was fantastic. The view is one of the best and the wine was delicious.

Enjoyed it very much
Jan 2021 • Couples
We had never tried Texas wines before so had to give them a try. We didn’t have a lot of time so picked only a few places to try. Pedernales seemed to have the type of wine we like, which is dry and mostly reds. So we gave them a try...good wine the Rose was very good and the Tempranillo as well. Nice grounds and views where you can sit and enjoy a bottle of wine and picnic.

Good spot for wine tasting in the country
Nov 2020 • Couples
We arrived a few minutes after our reservation, but were seated shortly after arrival. Everyone wore a mask until seated. We had ordered a cheese tray, but our wine server had to be reminded. Tasting includes a nice variety of their wines, but only our friends purchased any wine. Sitting on their lovely deck while tasting wine was a treat. Weather was perfect, and the deck is nicely shaded by pin oak trees. Views of the hill country are very good. This was the only winery we visited in the hill country, but we passed many wineries along the way out of Fredericksburg.
