Our second stop on our self-guided Texas wine tour, and we were surprised at how different the feel of this place is. You walk in, they give you a glass, then you choose your table and they come take your order. We headed straight for the back deck -- it was a gorgeous fall day -- where there was live... More

We just had a delicious Italian meal with 6 wine parings at Woodrose Winery in Stonewall, Texas. Owner and Chef, Mike Guilette, truly loves making wine and cooking. Next to the tasting room is a large restaurant, open on Saturdays (good time to arrive is 12:00-1:00 before the tour busses). $25.00 per person, 6 food stations, each with a wine.... More

We have tasted most of the local wineries and find Woodrose to be ok. I am not a big white wine drinker but neither of theirs were palatable. Their reds were barely drinkable. The only one I may have had a glass of if forced to make a choice was the Syrah. We had visited here a few years ago... More

$12 tasting, includes tax. Tastings served while sitting at table - inside or outside available. Pours decent size. We visited 4 wineries, and this one was by far our least favorite - all around. No info provided about wine other than year and name (i.e., 2012 merlot). One of the nice thing about tastings is learning about the wines. Particularly... More

We were disappointed with this part of our trip! The food was good but most of the wine that was paired with the food was terrible! It was not only our group, but most of the people on our bus!! Not going back here anytime ever!👎🏻

Woodrose Winery is one of the few wineries where you are welcome to take a seat, relax and taste their wine. Many week-ends there is also entertainment. Membership in the wine club is free. Quarterly wine shipments of new wine are offered, but you are free to turn down. For wine club members, two weekends before each wine shipment, food... More

As compared with the other wineries we visited, there were no crowds at Woodrose. This meant we got a lot of personal attention and great service. The back patio is beautiful and surrounded with trees. We really enjoyed the wines and had a really nice time.

Stopped by to taste & buy something different on an annual wine run from KC. Sampled 2 flights & both were not we'll on our taste buds. This could be one to skip till it gets much better. The pup was the highlight of our visit.

I've been here twice as part of the wino tour- and I would not recommend. The whites are definitely the better wines, avoid the rose at all costs- they should be ashamed for serving it, it really does taste like vinegar. I actually approached one of the waitstaff when I first tried it, thinking it was corked- but they just... More
