My husband and I camped at #7 on Turner Road. Arrived on a Tuesday and left on Thursday and we were the only overnight campers there. We really liked the location until we realized how close it was to the Camp Travis. We could hear the kids screaming in the morning, afternoon, and evening. Not to mention the music and the horn at the start and finish of their games. Aside from that from our tent we did see deer, turtles, road runners, and several water birds. The port-a-potty was spotlessly clean. I really enjoyed hiking the trails. About 90% of the trails are shaded. The terrain is easy to moderate but with the amount of rock and gravel on the trail it’s impossible to sneak up on any deer. We look forward to coming back. Although next time we will camp on Trammel road. All the sites are adequately spaced apart.

This park is clean and the trail (The Great Escape) we walked was well marked. We saw butterflies on the trail. It was slightly rocky but not difficult to hike. We went a little over 2 miles and and then back and it took us about 2 hours. We didn't see the lake on this trail, however it's mostly shaded with spots of sun. It was a nice way to spend a morning. Very clean bathrooms a plus!

bluebonnets were spectacular. I couldn't believe how many large meadows there were all planted with them.
Nice place to walk around. Enjoyed seeing Lake Travis.
Only problem for us was that the trail we were looking for was either closed or not well marked. We were disappointed with the lack of signage for trails.

March 2019 - We planned a family caravan to see the beautiful expanses of bluebonnet blooms. I had been a few years before and it was stunning to see what at first I thought was a clear blue lake, turned out to be bluebonnets for as far as I could see. It was beautiful and the fragrance was incredible! So we were making a return visit to share it with more family members. We were so sad to hear from the friendly staff there that earlier floods had washed away all the bluebonnets seeds.
*****My review is only for the bluebonnet bloom attraction. If your looking for picnic, camping, and an outdoor recreation this place is very nice.

We just drove through the park hoping to see the fields of bluebonnets that are pictured on the website. There weren't any, but it's a beautiful & relaxing place with nice camping spots right on the lake. Would love to go back to camp.

Mule Shoe has always been a great camping spot. March 2016 had a bumper crop of Blue Bonnett flowers I have never seen as a native Texan. That field is under water, so if that's what your expecting save the trip. Go to camp.

The BEST place to see Texas Bluebonnets! Giant swaths of them all on the flats area. Please be considerate and do not drive and trample all over them! Walk out take your photos and leave as little a trace as possible!

Had a nice time camping at Turner Road campground. Very quiet. Warm water in the lake, very few mosquitos, clean toilet at the campground and nice park employees I dealt with. Would defiantly come back. $10 night camp beat the price

We went to look at wildflowers. The bluebonnets are fabulous. Well worth the effort. The drive to get there also has lots of Indian paintbrush, verbena, bluebonnnets and other flowers.

Fantastic park that is overlooked. GREAT Camping areas and lake access. Bike and Hike trails along with Boat Ramp if you have water toys. Private and quiet unlike Paleface.

Are the bluebonnets in full bloom this weekend? Can you just drive through?
