After a weekend away, decided to stop at this vineyard on our way home. A little farther off HWY71 than we thought, but we did eventually get to the winery. Had a red wine tasting and really enjoyed one of the owner's tales of the wine, the winery and himself.

Big mistake not making this the first stop of the day! Unfortunately, this was the last stop, and we totally regretted that as we got here about 45 minutes before closing. The drive was quite lovely and the grounds were gorgeous! Very friendly people working here who were very knowledgeable about the wines offered. The wine was quite delicious and... More

We followed the signs pointing the way to the winery off Highway 71 for a few miles. The roads became narrower to the point that it reminded us of rural Hawaii, and we feared for a bit that maybe we had passed by our destination without seeing it. But then we noticed a vineyard and a surprising number of cars... More

You can bring a picnic or simply enjoy the cheese tray. We were a group of 6 that enjoyed tastings, snacks and several bottle of wine! This is a pet friendly venue and it was definitely doggy day with romping and fun all around!

My daughter Kelly and I spent a wonderful afternoon here after running errands before Easter. The drive is scenic, the grounds lovely, the staff friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. The winery is low-key, not pretentious and dog friendly. Best of all the wine was great! I had the pinot noir, my daughter the Chardonnay. The cheese tray a nice accompaniment. I... More

Spicewood Vineyards is a lovely property hidden away in the hill country. We enjoyed the drive up there, and the facilities around the complex are all very new and very well kept. As for the wine, it was decidedly average. There were a few good bottles that we picked up to bring home, but nothing really fantastic that we couldn't... More

My wife and I visited a few months ago. We found the staff to be distinctively average. We found the wine to be quite nice and light. I did enjoy the history of the venue. I would go back one day when I get a bit older. It is a very "mellow" place.

Most of the wines are good, but the Tempranillo is amazing. The customer service is great. We came in, and they were preparing for a huge chili cook off and yet they still treated us well. Great winery!

There was nothing to not like about Spicewood. Huge tasting room, beyond pleasant staff and the outside was breathtaking. I didn't want to go home. The water, the fish, the dogs, the awesome weather. We brought home a bottle of Frost Protection and had a bottle there. I will be going back as soon as possible!!!

This is our year of supporting our local Texas Vineyards and other attractions. We always say there isn't anything great to do here on the weekends but then the truth is that we don't really try. We live in Bee Caves which is the "gateway" to the Hill Country and just about 30 minutes door to door from Spicewood Vineyards.... More
