Looking for a fun way to spend the weekend while enjoying nature? Look no further. We took a two hour, Saturday ride with Sumere as our guide and we had a blast. The weather was perfect and our horses were well trained and very responsive. We rode along the lake, through small creeks, and under the shaded canopies of many well-kept & peaceful trails. Sumere, our guide, was terrific! She was very knowledgeable about the area and professional, courteous, and clear throughout the excursion. She clearly cares about the horses and guests and her passion for what she does is contagious. Great experience overall!

When I booked my trail ride, I sort of knew what to expect, but my expectations were FAR exceeded! My guide was Sumere, and she was awesome! She knew the horses and their personalities. She also knew the area, all 39 miles of trails!, so well that I felt 100% comfortable following her. She gave information about where we were on the trail and what the area is like at different times of the year, and she even talked about when Grapevine Lake has flooded in the past how that has shaped the area. We saw a snake as we were riding, and Sumere knew exactly how to handle her horse, and mine, to avoid any issues. I would HIGHLY recommend everyone go out the Marshall Creek Ranch and get on a horse! Ask for Sumere--she's awesome.

We did this for my son‘s 13th birthday. They made it a very special day for him and it was a wonderful experience. Kelsey was absolutely amazing and the trail ride was awesome. We couldn’t have asked for better service. Would HIGHLY recommend for beginners, can’t attest to advanced. Would do it again in a heartbeat when we are basin town.

Took my 12 year old here for a bday trail ride. We did a private ride va the group so we could “trot”. Giving it 4 star because it takes a really long time for everyone to get on their horse before you can go out. Don’t get there on time for your ride expecting to go out anytime soon- it took about 45 min for them to get a group of about 15-20 on a horse. Even though we were a private group of 2 we still had to wait on everyone else to get their horse because I don’t think they had enough staff. I’m not sure why they can’t gave the horses ready to go at the time of the ride but both times we did a ride here it was the same experience. Super friendly staff and a decent ride (it’s a trail walk- if you want to trot you should do the private ride but it’s still not much trotting).

Martha, thank you for taking the time to give us a review. Would like to take this time to clarify a few things.... We have to have everyone here 15 minutes prior to Horse Assignment to fill out their paperwork, get helmeted, and have a chance to use the restroom. It takes ALL of your fifteen minutes to get these things done. Then we go to Horse Assignment ON TIME regardless if everyone has arrived yet or not. We line everyone up side by side, and match you up to a horse based on experience, level of nervousness, height, weight, etc. We are VERY adept at putting the right horse with the right person. This takes time, and ensures everyone will have a great ride, not a "scary" ride. This procedure has nothing do to with "not enough staff." Our staff arrives at 7:30am to groom and saddle. All horses are ready to go by 9am each morning. Thirty minutes prior to our first ride. As far as trotting goes, we ride longer trots and more advanced maneuvers based on the individuals in the group. If we have children who would like to learn the trot, we go easier so as not to make it too overwhelming. We pick up the pace with kids who have ridden with us before and can handle their horse well. You do NOT need to book a Private Ride to trot. If you indicate on your form that you are an Intermediate or Advanced rider, you will be placed in a group of similar riders. I hope this helps others who are looking to hit the trails with us.

This experience was very worth it. I am from Australia and came with My Mom and Auntie. The staff were super friendly and personable and everything was paced as we felt was comfortable, we laughed a-lot and felt very comfortable. Thank you so much Kelsey, Jean and Gary for making it such a fun ride:) keep doing what your doing!
