Ila Loetscher, the "Turtle Lady of South Padre Island", originally formed our organization to save the Kemp's ridley sea turtle in 1977. Now we are a sea turtle hospital with a mission to rehabilitate and release any injured sea turtles, increase awareness concerning their safety and habitat, and assist with conservation efforts for all sea turtle species. We are funded by donations, grants and gift shop proceeds--

For rehabilitated sea turtle and hatchling release text message notifications, please see our website membership page. See you at Sea Turtle, Inc.!

The people who run Sea Turtle, Inc. are very dedicated to their cause and it shows the minute you walk in. We learned a lot and the turtles were amazing! We even found ourselves picking up the trash on our beach to save the turtles!

The people there are knowledgeable and friendly. They'll tell you about the turtles and their rehabilitation. Some turtles will not leave due to their condition but they release the ones they can. A great spot to see some wildlife & a great learning experience.

Just swung in on the way off the island and our small kids loved seeing the sea turtles! Not a ton to do there other than see the turtles and listen to the speakers, but we highly recommend going!!! Very fun.

Went on a weekday afternoon. It was pretty busy but informative and you get to see sea turtles being rehabilitated. I would suggest stopping by.

We all enjoyed the experience, and the staff were helpful and well informed and acquainted with the turtles that were at the aquarium.

The place was very crowded with only a few turtles that were being rehabilitated swimming in large tanks. They have a lecture on sea turtles and the work that they do and causes of... More

The exhibits were good and there were knowledgeable staff to answer questions in addition to the scheduled presentations. Definitely a must see especially if you have kids.
