Family Getaway

We stumbled across Isla Blanca and were pleasantly surprised. The beach was beautiful, bathrooms were clean and it only cost $10 to access for the whole day. We will be back!

The picnic tables and shade are welcome relief from the sun. Also having the restrooms close are very convenient. However people still feed the seagulls even though the signs clearly say not to. We saw several birds feasting on picnic lunches that were left on the tables unattended.

The beach access is $10 which we had thought it was only $5. We went to see El Cristo de los Pescadores "Christ of the Fisherman" statue in the evening time. Was awesome to see the names and dates along the statue. However, the beach isn't worth paying for especially if you have beach access for free at your hotel....... More

Isla Blanca park is located at the very southern tip of SPI. It is a paid entry park, with full beach access, concessions, an RV park and access to the SPI jetty. It makes for a great day trip for families who want to fish the jetty and also have the option of hanging out at the beach. Entrance fee... More

Unfortunately for us, we discovered this park the night before we left South Padre, but we were still able to spend a little time there. Loved the statue of Jesus, the beaches were very pretty and there were lifeguards on duty. The entry fee was $10 for the day per car, which is pretty cheap for private beach access. While we... More

This park has a Jesus Christ statue which is a great picture spot. Entrance fee is $10 and $5 for military members. There are indoor showers and 1 outdoor shower. There are covered picnic tables with concession. The food there are expensive, we brought our own food but I saw the price was $12 for hamburger, hot dog or nachos.... More

$10 per car admission The pros: Showers, bathrooms, restaurant, lifeguards, fishing, Dolphin watching The cons: It's also an RV park so keep that in mind. There's alot of people! It cost $10 for daily use. If you don't want to pay that then you can take advantage of the free beach acesss areas. They are not nearly as bust and... More

We drove through Isla Blanca on our first day in SPI, and immediately liked the wider beach than what we could find further north. Coming back the following day, we enjoyed the extra space and somewhat more dispersed crowds. I'm a Veteran; so I got in for $5 instead of the standard $10. The beach is patrolled and lifeguards are... More

I am from this area but am now full time in my RV. The $10 entry fee to the Isla Blanca and Andy Bowie Parks is outrageous! They just keep raising the price and offer no improvements. I can remember when it was $2 - same tollbooth - same facilities. So many places across our beautiful nation want you to... More
