We had reservations for my five grandchildren, ages 10 to 15, and one of my daughters to parasail. When we got on the platform out in the ocean and all the kids were strapped in their harnesses, my other daughter & I got excited & were wishing we had signed up to sail also. The men working on the boat & platform told us we could go also & just pay when we got back to the dock at Parrot Eyes. So we did! All of us had a great time! The workers were friendly, happy guys who enjoyed talking to the kids and were great with the two granddaughters & putting their fears at ease. This excursion goes on the bay side of South Padre where the water is more shallow so that helped the kids not be scared. It was an incredible 8-9 minute experience, floating high up above the ocean! All of us loved it so much, and the grandkids can't stop talking about how exciting it was. They immediately asked if they could go again - so we will do it again next summer!

Could not have gone better. Three of us went out for the day in the flats with Mark. We fished light tackle all day for redfish and speckled trout. Caught too many too mention. Afterwards Mark cleaned the fish and dropped the fillets off at a local Tex Mex restaurant. Took my whole family there that night for blackened Fish Tacos. Fantastic day!

We're no strangers to Parrot Eyes! Been there many times over the years as long ago before they relocated to current location. Sought them out for this trip (our Girls Week Away) for our "grand trip adventure" and could not have been more satisfied. We parasailed and while it wasn't the first time for any of we 4, it was one of the most exhilarating, dramatic, and spectacular of our many annual adventures. Capt. Ron, Capt. Eddie, and Smiling Steve went out of their way to get us in the air... including lots of shuffling around to make sure there was enough wind! After 48 hours of weather watching, coordinating, instructions, suiting up, trips back and forth to the dock, there was wind enough to lift us solo vs the doubles we'd planned for (ya wanna make God laugh, tell Him your plans!) This adventure far exceeded what we hoped for and ranks up there with our chopper flight over the Grand Canyon, rafting CAT 5s in Poudre River, mountain horsebacking in Angel Fire, and off trail ATVing in Broken Bow. Tell them the ol' gals in the original Parrot Eyes tshirts sent ya!

This was our first time in south Padre and we were having a great time until we decided to use Parrot Eyes for water sports adventures. Upon arrival we were not greeted with a warm and friendly greeting but instead are barked at by an elderly female who we now believe was either an owner of manager. As we were walking g up the ramp to the water sport desk, She yelled at us saying that we could not bring our insulated mugs up to the restaurant. We tried to explain that we were only going to the desk, which is outside of the restaurant. Then my daughter asked if we buy something from the restaurant could we pour it into the cup and she snapped at us with a No! Keep in mind that we booked onLine and there was nothing in the instructions advising that we could not bring cups on the property. We obliged but she had a miserable face as she stared at us in disgust. We could all tell that they apparently did Not like the large group of black people. We felt a racist undertone. The workers at the desk were very friendly and accommodating. We finished with the sign in and weigh ins and proceeded to the boat. We had a two hour window booked for 8 people. When out in the dock, the captain arrived and he also was very rude. We had decided how to pair people up for parasailing but apparently the captain felt it didn’t work for weight safety. But instead of him telling us what would work he snapped at my daughters who were trying to help. The captain was saying that if the pairing didn’t work as we got to the end then people would need to go alone. That’s ok for the adults but not the children. He didn’t want to hear it and said if we Get to the end and the weight didn’t work then they just can’t go up. Of course that didn’t make us happy. In any case we finished the rides although they were not as exciting as we the experienced we had in other places. Upon getting off the boat and heading to our cars one of the waiting customers yelled derogatory remarks indicating that it is our fault that he had to wait. At this time it is 5 pm which was the end of our 2 hr window. So we were right on time. It appears that the proprietor double booked over our time thinking they could get done with us earlier than the 2 hrs. They apparently told their waiting customers that it was our fault that they had to wAit. This caused a large racially motivated scene. Not one time did the proprietor take ownership and let the angry customers know that we booked a 2 hr window. It was the worst experience ever.

I would give it ZERO stars if I could! We ate lunch at the restaurant, which was amazing.
Decided to take the kids to ride jet skies. Every question we asked was rudely answered. In the end it was clear they were trying to make every excuse to not allow us to rent the jet skies. Cash only, the day we were there only 2 persons to a jet ski, can’t switch out passengers.
So we pull out cash and are ready to book. They continued to make excuses. It all boiled down to the fact that we had one drink at lunch. I get it, no drinking and driving. Hey, just say that in the beginning! First of all, it was one drink. Don’t make us waste our time with your childish beating around the bush BS. Handle your company like professionals! That goes for the young men and the older man running the counter. Sonny’s will continue to get my business. At the time it was convenient to go through this company since it was right there at our lunch spot!
Sonny’s Beach Service is always exceptional!

I called a week before our trip to ask about adding a 3rd rider on a jet ski and further details. I was told as long as the combined weight did not exceed 450 pounds any 3 riders could go regardless of age. This activity was chosen by our daughter as her birthday present. She originally wanted to go horse back riding but thought this would be fun, we should have ridden horses instead. I also asked if they had a military or fireman discount because my husband is a veteran and is currently a fireman. They said we should book online and then when we arrive we will have to pay for the 3rd rider and then a discount would then be given. We arrived for our scheduled appointment and due to weather we could not go out. So we waited 30 minutes for someone to decide when we could reschedule for later in the day. No one could find the schedule, which was the 1st clue to get our money back. Finally, I looked up their schedule on my phone and saw there was an opening later in the day. This was our last day so we could not come another day. We spoke then about adding the 3rd rider. So we adjusted our plans for the day and returned later to be told a 3rd rider could not be added. Not because of the weight but because they do not allow 2 adults and a child. The previous week the owner I spoke with had said otherwise. Then I asked if our veteran discount could be applied and I was told they are not allowed to give a discount. So I stayed back for an hour not able to see or take pictures of my husband or daughter because once the jet ski leaves the canal they are not visible from the dock. So as I waited I was told to leave my number for the owner to call me that evening so I could speak with him. I never received a call that night or the next morning. So I called and spoke with a worker who told me that the owner is too busy to call me because he is "mentally spent" from parasailing all day with customers. He said they could not give me a discount because I paid online. He tried to give me a discount for the next time I come. I told him no thank you because I would never give them another dime! The entire conversation his worker spoke to me very rudely and told me to just leave a bad review. So I would strongly suggest using another place on the island.

Made a reservation the day before (online) received confirmation email for parasailing Sunday afternoon. Showed up 30 minutes early and the worker says there is no parasailing today. They gave me a number to call to get ahold of "Ron". I called Ron and he said I shouldn't have been able to reserve online because they don't operate on Sunday's during the off-season. I said it would have been nice to get a call notifying me it was canceled. Ron called me a "Karen" said I would be refunded and hung up. Ron was rude and not professional at all.

I went parasailing with my mom and I had a great time! The staff was very nice to us and very helpful. They made conversation and the wait more exciting! They even gave us water when we were done. I would definitely go again! They do it differently than any other time I have been parasailing which is very cool. The only reason it is not 5/5 is because of the price. Our parasailing costed about $200. Even though it was fun, it was not $200 worth of fun. Other than that, perfection!!

My husband, myself and our 9 yr old son did the 1.5 hr jet ski tour! From the moment we inquired, we were impressed. Eddie told us all about the tour and we were sold! He ended up being our tour guide! He took us on quite an adventure and showed us some of our favorite, familiar spots but at a different angle from the water! The shipping channel was probably our favorite part. We rode next to some giant ships!! Eddie shared some fun facts with us which was fun to learn more about the area from a local. He also took pictures for us which was so neat! This was definitely one of the highlights of our trip and we will definitely do this again!

Family fishing trip was amazing. We have 2 teens that never went fishing and said that is not there thing! We were very fortunate to have Captain Rudy to teach us and guides the guys step by step. They were exited by caching a big fish and we were very pleased having them fully engage in the activity for 3-4 hours. BIG THANK YOU to Cpt Rudy for his inspirational trip.
