About
Beach Park at Isla Blanca is more than an outdoor waterpark. Featuring a Top 5 rated kid's attraction by USA Today, four uphill water coasters, one of the country's largest inland surf rides, the award-winning Transportainment river system that allows guests to float from ride to ride and much more, we hope you enjoy the Gulf breezes and beautiful sands along Texas' best beaches as much as we do.

We continue to come back here every couple of years. It is a great break from the beach with different things to do. The lifeguards are always friendly and have a personality when you try to talk to them. It is a great place for a family outing. Negatives: The park as a whole needs a little upkeep (thus the 4 out of 5 rating). They don't load people as fast as they use to on the water-coasters (probably due to safety), so you will be waiting in line for quite a while. No misters spraying water on the scalding sidewalk. Since Schlitterbahn sold it, the "inside waterpark" building is no longer a part of the waterpark.

Thanks teacherj! We are looking forward to seeing you again soon and we did a lot of infrastructure work this past offseason despite nearly two years of not being open (or only occasionally due to Covid). The indoor park was part of a hotel that was sold in 2019 and they unfortunately decided against keeping it.

THIS PLACE IS AMAZING! If you have kids between the ages of 2 and 12 that love water (pools, beaches, etc.), this place is a literal paradise.

The main play area that they have is where we spent most of our time with our two toddlers. Running between the different slides and pools and water jets might have been the highlight of our vacation. (On a side note, if you're the type of parent that likes to run around with your overactive child, I would recommend water shoes. My feet were really sore the next day.)

The multitude of water-coasters that they have is very impressive. These aren't just big slides where you slide down on a tube. You get carried up by a conveyor straight from the lazy river, and then during the ride you are periodically rocketed forward by high-pressure water jets.

The size of this place is also very impressive. Even with about a quarter of the attractions closed off, it seemed like every 20 minutes we would find a new, unique play area or attraction.

Definitely bring a cooler for drinks and snacks, but eating a meal there will not break the bank. We fed a family of four (two parents and two small kids) for just $20. There's also a full bar at the main dining area for parents to have an adult drink or two.

The cost of admission stings a bit, but man is it worth it!!

We returned here after several years. We originally went when it was Schlitterbahn, and had such a great time. It is very much the same. We enjoyed our trip. The lines for the rides were very long because people kept getting stuck on the slides. They would have to shut down the slide and an employee would have to walk down the slide and unstick them to start the slide again. They’re obviously having water pressure problems on the slides. Resolving this would’ve allowed us to ride the rides more. Instead, we spent most of our time in the lazy river.

Went for the water slides but never got to go on one of the "big ones". Only one was open all day, but the line was over an hour long; another closed all day; another had a long line while open and then closed. There is not a large pool for those who just want to swim. Even with a senior discount this was way too expensive for what was available. And ... we went on Wednesday, the park was not crowded.

Not sure of what you are speaking since we have four uphill watercoasters, multiple tube chutes, swim-up bar, many children's areas, the Sandcastle Cove (one of the Top 5 rated kid's waterpark attractions as rated by USA Today) and our award-winning Transportainment river system. On Saturday, we did have one slide temporarily out of service, but it was back in operation later in the day.

They desperately need to update this park, as well as fix all the broken rides and tube chutes because it is a waste of $45+ dollars to get in as an adult. It used to be a wonderful park but sadly it has fallen on hard times & looks like it hasn’t been updated since it was opened. Kitchen staff is highly overworked, lifeguards are young & not extremely interested BUT they do their jobs, other than that more rides and updates would really bring this park back to what it used to be. Sadly it doesn’t seem like management is interested in improving the park as the reviews have steadily been going downhill for years.

We were pretty disappointed for the price. When we arrived they warned us that they are short on life guards and only half of the lazy river and one slide were currently open. They said some more things should open later but couldn’t make any promises. It appears they are having a hard time getting workers like the rest of the country. We only had one day in SPI and had already bought the tickets online. We were told we could get a refund but my kids were excited for a water park. Only one extra ride and the other half of the lazy river opened later. It is a great concept with being able to ride the lazy river around to all the rides and not having to stand on the hot concrete. But I feel like even if everything would have been opened it’s still not worth the price. With very few rides open you can imagine every one flocked to the ride and the line took forever. Very disappointed! Save your $$!!

We had a good day, though it was expensive. A lot of the park is in need of a facelift and one of the water slides was not working on our day...I would rate it a good value if it was $10 cheaper as it was a fun day, but it is priced as big time water park and it is not that at the moment.

I loved this water park. It was the best one we’ve been to- but we only have east coast ones near Maryland/Virginia and Myrtle Beach, SC to compare to. The toddler area was extensive and lots of levels to the sand castle. I loved that you entered the slides from the lazy River - it meant you weren’t standing in line holding a tube which every other park we’ve been at made you do. I also really enjoyed the rapids that are part of the end of the lazy River. We could do that with our 3 year old in the double tube and it was fun for all ages. They definitely had great, well-trained staff, and I think that probably contributes to the higher cost, but we’ll worth it for me not having to worry about safety (for my family or others)

Some pictures on trip advisor’s listing are now outdated since the park no longer has an indoor section or wave pool

Thank you javaluva2 for taking the time to share your experience while visiting us on South Padre Island. We appreciate the extensive review and the noting of how hard we work with our staff to ensure they try and make everyone's day with us a day to remember. While similarly priced to most waterparks around the country, we also provide the almost unheard combination of free parking, free use of tubes, life vests and boogie boards plus allow in outside food and beverages (no glass or alcohol) to help keep their visit affordably priced. Thanks again and hope you are able to visit us again soon!

Went and the indoor part was closed and so was one of the smaller rides as well as the surfing one. Waited in line for the sea blaster for an hour because every other person kept getting stuck only for them to close down the ride (never got on). They also had to close the gale force for awhile, but by the time it got back on the line was way too long.

Sorry we did not meet your expectations this visit Ivan. The indoor park was part of the hotel that was sold 3 years ago. The Surf Rider did open later than normal on the day of your visit (in the afternoon). We hope to see you back soon and you enjoy your visit as we want you to.

the rental of the Palapas isn't very detailed, you don't know exactly which one you are picking nor the location when reserving. Also one of my daughters was injured in the lazy River, wear water shoes. The place has not been renovated since ownership change, the floats for little ones were all torn and the life vests were old and out dated. They ran out of certain brands of beer before noon on a Weekend.
