Sunset dinner cruises or Snorkeling trips with lunch a must. A visit to South Padre Island or Port Isabel wouldn't be complete without a sailing trip on Southern Wave. Sit back, relax, and enjoy a cool drink while the South Texas sun puts on it's spectacular evening sunset show for you... this is the perfect way to end your day and start your evening. You can lay in the South Padre Island sun on our spacious trampolines or relax under the covered canopy. Most mornings, we'll snorkel in the waters of the Laguna Madre, northwest of South Padre Island with delicious lunch. Afternoons may be spent Dolphin Watching, Picnicking or working on your tan. We have a grill on board so we can make your trip to South Padre Island special. In the evenings, we have a Sunset Dinner Cruise - the Chef grills an all-u-can eat Beef and Chicken fajita dinner picnic buffet style, grilled fish, jumbo grilled shrimp as appetizer, all you can drink bottled water and sodas, the hostess puts out fresh cut fruit platter, the musician plays great music. Of course in the summer, the Friday night fireworks are not to be missed.

Great folks working here. All equipment in really good condition. Fun time. We would come back the next time we are in the area.

My wife and I found a great deal on groupon and rented a few wave runners. The guy helping us was a cool laid back island guy who gave us good instructions for beginner riders. My wife rode with my 6 year old daughter and I took one solo. We had a lot of fun cruising around the bay and... More

This trip only took us out into Laguna Madre. The water is murky and feels like you are in a nasty lake! Our kids hated it and we will not be going back! Staff was great and tried their hardest to make everyone happy.

Poor snorkeling in Laguna Madre. We were expecting to go to the gulf. Sea grass and tiny fish were all there were to see. Snorkeled for about 10 minutes and laid on the net for the rest of The time. The burgers were great and girl working boat was very nice. Captain was quiet and on phone the whole time.

We really enjoyed the sunset dinner cruise at Southern Wave. We sailed promptly at 7 and listened to live music for a while before being served a blackened shrimp appetizer. This was followed by make it yourself fajitas and a fresh fruit dessert. We sailed past some very interesting waterfront properties before returning about 2 hours later. Soft drinks and... More

We chartered two trips with Southern Wave Sailing Charters on May 13, 2016 for the dinner cruises and May 14, 2016 for the snorkeling and lunch cruise. We had a great time the Chef was awesome and the musician was very entertaining on the dinner cruise. The Captain did a great job on the burgers on the snorkeling cruise, we... More

If you're hoping to see some cool fish or underwater landscape, this isn't for you. All there is to see is sea grass, tiny fish, and maybe a crab. People were in the water for 15 minutes and on the boat the rest of the time. Both of our masks kept leaking and when I told the girl working that,... More

Delightful time, beautiful weather, great food, live music, pleasant crew--smooth sailing! Suggest you check Groupon for reduced rates! Definitely recommend for a good dinner and a relaxing evening on the water!

Best money I've spent on this trip. The chef cooked beef, chicken and fish fajitas and shrimp appetizers. It included fresh fruit and chocolates for desert and all the sodas we wanted. We brought our own wine which the mates/servers delivered to us. We didn't have to get up once. The boat sailed smoothly down the inter coastal as we... More

We had 3 couples going, who did not want a fast, bumpy, exciting ride. We found it. This was a smooth, slow, 2 hour catamaran-cruise along the inside coast-line of South Padre Island (observing the coastal architecture). The gresh-grilled dinner (shrimp appetizer, then fajitas of chicken and beef and fruit) was very good. The musician was fantastic. And the clouds... More
