The experience we had was sadly extremely unprofessional and discriminatory. We all have the right to choose who we do business with; SPI Excursions business practice is not transparent but unambiguously misleading for it does not inform the consumer on its website and/or verbally we would be parasailing on a balloon advertising Trump. We as consumers have the right to know this information ahead of time.
When we questioned the person driving the boat, which he identified as “captain bar” he was not only belligerent, rude and disrespectful but he also threatened to call the police on us if we did not comply with SPI Excursion policy. When we continued asking questions, he became exceedingly defensive to the point of ordering us to sit and take out the parasailing gear, my husband had to ask “captain bar” to stop talking to us in such disrespectful manner several times before he did.
Additionally, we had to wait for another couple to finish parasailing before we were taken back to the island.
This was going to be my husband and my first time parasailing along with my sister and brother in-law who we invited and paid for and, obviously, we did not get a refund.
As a healthcare professional and business woman, it is extremely discouraging to witness this type of unprofessional conduct and poorly run business.
If we would have known ahead of time, we would be parasailing on a Trump advertised parasail balloon, we would had taken our business somewhere else.
Lastly, I will not allow this bad experience ruin our goal to parasail, South Padre Island does have other professional business to pursue this kind of activities without the disrespect and hidden political agenda, that we as consumers paid for because you are not informed about this until you see the parasail ballon in front of you, then you are left with two options, agree with their business or don’t agree, get disrespected and get robbed with their non-refundable policy.
I respect everyone’s beliefs and political views, I should receive the same kind of respect regardless of race, political beliefs and/or religion.
