We were visiting the town of Boerne, but wanted to pick up some wine for a family member. We saw this winery on the map, so took a side trip to Sisterdale. It is a bit off the beaten path. Took the little self guided tour. Even though we are not wine drinkers the shop keeper was very friendly and patient while explaining wines to us.

We have been there a couple times, and enjoy the small... not so commercialized winery visit. They allow you to take a free self tour of their operation and have a write-up that you can read while walking through. They do have a nominal charge to taste their wines, but it is reasonable.
Visiting here gives you an appreciation for what they do and their craft.

As previously described this is a very down to earth winery. They were our last stop and yet probably had the best wine of all of the area wineries or at least the muscat. This winery is by itself on the way in or out of Fredericksburg but is defintiely worth a stop.

We were a little disappointed in the facility, and the organization of the flight tasting. We did buy a glass to drink, and bought a bottle to take, that we did not enjoy.

This is an old cotton gin mill, and a lot of the old mill equipment is still inside, very interesting to see some of it.
The wine tasting is done a bit different then other places, no bar to belly up to, for example. The wine selection is very good, prices very reasonable, and if you talk to the staff, you get lots of info about how they make the wines, etc., We had a fun experience, got into lively conversations with staff and other customers, it was a fun outing, very good wines, and we cam home with three new winers to enjoy at our leisure.

Tasting room only, but Amy was most informative. We did the self guided tour, then sampled four wines...we bought bottles of three! Best for us, the majority of the wines are dry reds.

Just a half hour from the craziness of Fredricksburg, Sister Creek Vineyards retains the feel of a special winery experience of times gone by. The tasting room staff is there to help and inform, and are eager share their wine making and appreciation insights, making you feel like a welcome guest.
And the wine quality is real surprise. Rather than chasing big alcoholic varietals, the winemaker appears to spend much effort blending and aging to create classic wine profiles. Some very nice blended reds. And some excellent semi-sweet whites.

My daughter and I were on the Texas Hill Country and LBJ tour from San Antonio, and we heard about this must buy wine. Our driver Ray called ahead to the winery to have them have a bottle ready. I purchased the Muscat Canelli Reserve 2017 that everyone raves about. This wine is absolutely amazing! It was $18 a bottle plus tax. I only wish I bought more than one bottle. So if you are near here, stop in and buy a bottle and visit the winery.

Cool little place with really nice people, especially the manager, he was cool. But, the wine is really expensive and mostly substandard California grapes. So, why would you pay $39 for a "Texas" Cab blend with all Cali grapes when you can buy a beautiful Napa Cab for same. It's nice for the quaint TX hill country experience but don't expect good Texas wine.
