About Captain Kidd
Sail aboard the 55' schooner Capt Kidd on Galveston Bay. Departing from Seabrook Texas and the Seabrook Marina the ship sails past the Boardwalk in Kemah and out to open waters on Galveston Bay. Bring your own drinks and snacks on the scheduled 2 hour public sails and relax as the capt and crew do all the work for you. Listen to tropical music and imagine you're cruising in a sea of distant islands. Watch the beautiful sunsets on the water or enjoy the marine sights of a day sail. Don't forget the sunscreen! We have gone on this sail experience 3 times this summer & will probably go again before school starts!!! Easy to book, great and detailed directions (basically a mile or 2 from the Kemah boardwalk), fantastic hospitality and great boat! Captain Kidd is a pleasure to visit with during the trip. He is safety conscience, especially at night! He got us incredibly close to the fireworks presented at Kemah & took his time sailing back in to the boat slip. Great island type music for ambiance. Captain Kidd is great with the kids and adults alike. We went on July 4th for our last trip & we were blown away. The sky was amazing!! For the value this trip is a must do if you are near the Kemah area!

We're glad you've enjoyed your cruised aboard Capt Kidd! The 4th of July fireworks are spectacular on the water as are all the fireworks cruises on Friday in June and July. We feel fortunate to be able to provide our sailing services for those that want to experience sailing at a reasonable price. We also feel fortunate to be in our new location in Seabrook which makes access and parking a lot easier for our sailors than before. Gentle breezes, calm waters, and smooth sailing! Capt Kidd

Sailing was on a bucket list of mine and this was perfect for it. Called to make my reservations a couple days ahead of time it was easy. We did the sunset sail and it was beautiful. Super friendly captain with 2 crew members. Its a replica of a 19th century sail boat with pirate flag! You can bring drinks and some snacks but nothing red. It's about 2hr sailing. Our teenagers loved it too. The price was very affordable. I would highly recommended them anytime your in the area and looking for something new to try.

Rode the Captain Kid on it's 2 hour sunset ride on my birthday. Captain Joe was amiable as well as first mate Nadine. A lot of the fun on this trip has to do with the others on the boat with you. I was solo but most were in a group who were fun do the cruise with and it was a real joy! You bring your own drinks and snacks which I loved! My only small criticism would be a better way for them to have the ice that they supply. I can't wait to take this trip again!

Aboard ship we don't have the convenience of an ice maker or ice dispenser like at home so we transport the ice in a plastic bag and use a cooler. If you'll let us know what exactly you're looking for in an ice provision when sailing, we'll sure try to accommodate your wishes next time!

Glad we went when we did on 8/12/16. I believe that was a Friday. The weather turned bad after we left. It was me and my husband, daughter and dad. We celebrated my dad's birthday, my birthday, and our anniversary. Everyone was wonderful! I just wish that we would have stayed overnight, but maybe next time!
