We visited this several times including when kids were just babies.. There is glass bottom boat ride, a marsh land walk where we found a swan nest with the mom and dad and eggs! There is the ghostly structure of the abandoned hotel, several old structures, the abandoned cable car structure! You can feel how people used to have fun... More

So I found a Groupon for The Glass-Bottom Boat Tour when looking for things to do in Austin. It was only $22 for the 4 of us (2 adults and 2 kids) so figured why not. It was a GREAT discovery! Such a neat little hidden gem in between Austin and San Antonio! Parking was free, we had a great... More

Ralph the swimming pig and all the mermaids are long gone from the former Aquarena Springs complex. What you find there now is a small spring fed lake that is used mostly for research with glass bottom boat excursions and visits to the free aquarium housed in an old hotel overlooking the lake. There was nobody there on a weekday... More

We went to San Marcos Labor Day wknd to the Meadows Center to Scuba Dive and clean Spring Lake for the Scientific Dive Group. They have taken the Original Aquarina Springs down to the original flora/fona and have opened up the water for Scuba Classes and the Scientific divers. As always the dive was fantastic w the water being about... More

I have to admit, expected little from this short excursion and ended up a big fan. Easy to get to, plenty of free parking. You only need an hour to get the full experience but can and should linger longer. The glass bottom boat is a must do. The view of fish, plants, and turtles is amazing. The tour guides... More

This makes a great little day trip from Austin or other nearby cities and is very enjoyable for all ages. I took two 5-year-olds and an 8-year-old, and it was one of our favorite outings of the summer. Highly recommended! The historic Aquarena Springs park at Spring Lake is being restored to a more natural state and is now operated... More

The kids enjoyed the glass bottom boat. Lots of sight seeing of the sea. Someone also guided the boat and gave the history of it... They also had a aquarium kind of small but they enjoyed see it and playing with the small colored sand table too. They liked it here..

We loved seeing the fish and walking through the gorgeous scenery. My daughter loved it! The glass bottom boats are so much fun, it's definitely worth the trip!

We were looking for something to do on a hot afternoon with our grandkids. When I was a child this was an amusement park with a hotel, a small cable car ride, various exhibits, and food for purchase. The park shut down and was purchased by the University. This was a great attraction for a quick visit. They had two... More
