We almost died. There was eight of us and the tour guide didn't come with us after we told her that we were first timers. Then, we all got flipped and almost drowned because she told us that we didn't have to wear our life jackets because it was "so easy, a five year old could do it." Five of... More

I first got into whitewater kayaking about 8 years ago and this was the place I received all my instruction from. This first thing to note is that Ben will tell you that you have to be an "Active Participant" on the water and in your own rescue. Which simply means that it's much harder to help someone who is... After reading the quite negative reviews, I decided to give this location a shot because the groupon brought the cost down significantly. My son brought 12 other college age kids with him. To ensure I would not be left stranded like previous reviewers, I sent many texts to the number listed, which is the owner of the business (Ben). He... More

This is the most unorganized business I have ever visited. I purchased a half day float for my family from Groupon. We arrived and the place is a disorganized mess. The kayaks are laying all over the property and they are nasty and full of standing water. They took one hour to figure out what kayaks we could use and... More

I myself have been kayaking for years however my friends had never been which we made very clear to the staff. They gave us a little run down on where to and where not to go which we didn't really understand so he gave us his number to call if we got lost. He told us there was a point... More

The San Marcos River is gorgeous and it is a very fun float. During the week it is peaceful and relaxing, but be aware that on the weekend there is an incredible amount of river traffic. It is not a good idea to bring young children because of the strong current and the overcrowding on the river. However, for teenagers... More

Sara, Thank you for your recent visit. We are glad that you and your family had such a good time with us. It’s true that the river gets busy on weekends during the summer. Thank you so much for your recommendation! More

I have been kayaking for almost 10 years but using sit on tops because I could never get my roll down. In preparation for an upcoming trip I chanced upon Ben and found he does private instruction. After two hours in the cook waters of the San Marcos River I am much more confident in my roll. We even paddled... More

That's awesome! Happy that we can help perfect that tricky roll. We have a couple of kayak trips that are really fun that you might be interested in. Every weekend we have local trips on the San Marcos River and Guadalupe River and every month we take a bigger trip. Just give us a call or email if you want... More

My boys and i had a fantastic time on the river on a couple Ben's paddleboards, and really loved his giant tree swing after the trip. Will be back again later this summer!

Had an excellent time learning the basics of White Water Kayaking in San Marcos! Was there with a group of Boy Scouts for a high adventure trip. The instruction was incredible - Ben knows how to teach kayaking! Our troop has been there twice in the previous 5 years, and each time it was an event of a lifetime! We... More
