About
Founded by Donna Howell-Sickles and husband, John Sickles, in April of 2010, Davis & Blevins Gallery is a unique fine art gallery in Saint Jo, Texas. Located 1.5 hours North of Dallas/Fort Worth, and nestled in the picturesque Red River Valley, Saint Jo is positioned on the historic Chisholm Trail - now better known as Highway 82. The Gallery offers atmosphere, artwork, and exquisite gift items steeped in the rich heritage of the American West. Donna and John moved to Saint Jo in 2000, and spent the next decade researching Saint Jo history and renovating the historic Davis & Blevins building that now houses their fine art gallery and gift shop. By combining their talents in design, remodeling, and architecture the couple has created an enchanting oasis on the historic town square where one can step inside and be transported past the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The repertoire of artists include celebrated figures from across the United States.

What a beautiful gallery with fantastic art coupled with a great gift shop full of beautiful items from Jewerly, scarves, purses, prints, cards and much more. Parking is located on square and within easy walking distance. Staff is so pleasant and very helpful with questions. If you love cowgirl art and bronzes this is a must see!!

It's always fun to wander and appreciate the quality of art and it's beauty. And there were some beautiful pictures here. The gift shop had a nice variety of gift items.
The staff was friendly and I was lucky enough to meet the owner/artist.

You don't have to be a redneck to enjoy watching them! Rednecks with Paychecks is an annual event that usually occurs during spring break in March.

OMG! What great fun!!

The "RWP" MAIN EVENT is outside the Saint Joe downtown area and is close to Muenster.
At "RWP" you can bring whatever off-road vehicle you have to enjoy camping, and riding throughout the vast acreage of hills, rocks, MUD, MUD and MORE MUD!
For the more adventurous type there are retention ponds of muddy water where there is a lot of slipping and slip-sliding going on.
You don't have to participate in order to enjoy and laugh with your friends at some of the MOST OUTRAGEOUS fun that you might ever have!
In addition to the off-road adventures ~ there are many vendors that sell "RWP"
Memorabilia, a variety of food choices. But WAIT there is even more to enjoy!! There is a LARGE hilltop stage that features big-name bands! So, when the sun sets a new party begins. Bring a couple lawn chairs, ice chest, and snacks. There is bleacher seating but most people tailgate or find a area to kick back in their lawn chairs.

Proceeds from the ticket sales are given to a charitable organization.

Notably, I do NOT recommend that small children should attend RWP.

Enjoy!

What do you expect to find when you stop in a VERY small town with many empty buildings and those that are stores look almost empty? When you enter this gallery you will find fine art from several known western artists. There are contributors from around the nation. Many are recognized in the Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum. The art work quality is not what you expect before entering. All works are available for purchase and you will find the owner, one of the artist, to be a joy. If she is there she will tell you much about the works on display.

The Davis & Blevins gallery is wonderful. Cowgirl Hall of Fame artist Donna Howell-Sickles is often on site and lovely to talk to. The gallery features not only her work, but other artists of western art and nature. There are sculptures as well. A lovely experience in an old western town setting and in an old restored building on the square. And yes, there's a gift shop. Some of Donna's work has been printed on scarfs and other merchandise. Fun place!

You know you are in a Texas country town on a lazy hot Saturday when you can stroll thru a fabulous gallery and never even encounter an owner. They have fabulous, inspiring quality works and I will go back.

This lovely gallery occupies two storefronts on the St. Jo square. The work of several artists is on display; most of the pieces have Western themes. A variety of styles and media are presented. Some beautiful inlaid wooden bowls and vases caught my eye.

One of the owners Donna Howell-Sickles is herself a fine artist; her paintings feature modern-day cowgirls often shown with their horses. Donna is a member of the Cowgirl Hall of Fame.

The gallery offers a terrific collection of gifts with a wide range of prices; this is a great place to shop for birthday and holiday gifts. I especially liked the beautifully colored rattles made of raku pottery.

Visit the old West on the town square of a once bustling cattle drive town. Art is not just Western and not limited to paintings.
Perhaps you'll be fortunate enough to meet one of the artists on your visit. Buildings have been restored to their period motifs.
A few doors down is the old saloon which now serves as a museum for the town of Saint Jo; definitely worth a visit while you're in town.
