Convenient and Easy Entertainment
Jun 2020 • Family
This time of year, expect them shortly after eight pm. First all the fluttering under the bridge, then the streams of black through the sky. It never fails to be exciting. And it’s easy in and out of the parking lot.

Great site to see
Dec 2019 • Solo
Just driving by on IH 35 and hundreds of bats almost a black cloud emerging from under the bridge at sunset, was a beautiful site to see! Watched as long as I could and then still saw a few in the sky further down the road looking for their crowd! It was breath taking to see such a site of wild animals on the loose taking flight!

Fabulous sight to see all the bats emerge
Aug 2019
I bring out-of-town guests here. It is closer and easier than going into Austin to see bats. Even though I've seen them a dozen times, I always enjoy nature's show.

AS GOOD OR BETTER THAN THE AUSTIN BATS
Oct 2019
We frequently drive the route to downtown Round Rock that takes us under the bridge where our bats live. Their emergence attracts small crowds (small than Austin's) which are able to assemble safely at a good viewing spot.

Observing
Aug 2019 • Solo
Just love watching them in the dusk of the day take off in a cloud of black little specks in the sky! They can take your breath away the way they swirl and finally figure out what direction they are really headed! Trust me once they do nothing better get in their way! Even cooler to me is a few fly over my home on their way to where they are going to roost for the night!

Take a clear tarp to stand under if you are going to stan out near the road, you can thank me later.

See bats for free in an urban setting.

Park in the NAPA parking lot and watch the bats emerge. We arrived only 10 min before sunset and should have come earlier (aim for 30 min before sunset if you have younger kids).
The emerging and feeding bats are impressive!
Neat DIY tourist experience.

Great Experience!
Aug 2019 • Couples
I’m so glad we decided to do this! You can hear the bats about 10-15 minutes before they start flying out. They will begin to “swarm” under the bridge and then the first wave will begin. It it truly a sight to behold! You can bring a lawn chair and snacks and stay a bit or just hang out for a few minutes to view this cool experience. There are usually about 10-20 people there as well. Great for kids. Tip: Go to the bathroom before you go because the auto parts store will be closed and there is no other bathroom nearby.

Saw hundreds of bats Alitalia before dark from the Napa auto parts parking lot looking at the 35 underpass.

A sight worth experiencing

It's just a highway overpass, not a bridge over town lake, but a spectacular summer nightly experience
