A wonderful day to see the Whooping Cranes was had by all. The crew was helpful. Snacks and drinks were available. Plus binoculars if you didn't have any. The captain was very knowledgable.

What a great morning with Captain Kevin! We saw 17 Whoopers, many up close, along with other specialities like American Oystercatcher, Crested Caracara, and Osprey. Definitely the way to explore Aransas NW!

At first the morning appeared to be a bust due to thick fog. Captain Kevin's radar helped guide us to a location where whoopers might be found. Kevin persisted, and after about an hour the fog lifted and we made multiple sightings, a couple of them quite close to us, of whooping cranes. We also spotted a pair of American Oystercatchers, in addition to egrets and herons.

By far the best way to see the Whooping Cranes at Aransas NWR. Kevin and Lori’s knowledge of the whoopers and the refuge is unmatched. Ive been going with them for over 10 years and their trips and service is always top notch.

I have gone out with Aransas Bay Birding Charters (both Capt Kevin and Capt Lori) multiple times over the last two years. Each time there is something different going on with the cranes and they know just how to position us for the best photo opportunities. Additioanlly, because they have been doing this so long, they not only know the cranes families and can give you tons of information about the individuals and the species, but the cranes know them and are comfortable with their boats. This is evident in watching the behavior when a new boat pulls up to the different families and how they react. They are the only operators I will use when leading photography workshops and taking clients out to photograph the cranes. Cannot recommend them enough!

My third trip with Lori over a 10-year span, this time with newbie nature friends. Lori engages with all levels of nature lovers beautifully. Knowledgeable about birds, binocs, oysters, and bay ecology and preservation. The friends were blown away. 100% chance of seeing cranes. Every time I come the whooping cranes are a majestic delight. The cranes strolled towards the boat and eventually decided to regal us with their flight. This is one of these bucket list nature experiences similar to wildebeest in the Mara and whale sharks off Holbox.

Captain Lorie was an amazing guide to the birds of the area. We saw 47 species and learned so much about the bays and marshes in this area. The Jack Flash is a great boat to get up close to the mud flats and grasslands. Book with her and you will have a great birding experience!

This is the first time I’ve gone out with Aransas Bay Birding Charters and it will definitely not be my last. By far better and more personalized than other charter offerings in the area. We went out on 28 January with CAPT Lori on a foggy, wet morning. But who can control the weather, right? She was amazing! Took the time to explain the area and Wildlife. Great conversation and knowledge of birds. And despite the weather she was able to locate Whooping Cranes in addition to other area wildlife. She never rushed us, ensured we were comfortable and got the viewings/shots we wanted before asking us when we wanted to move on. Great experience, super lady who really went above and beyond to ensure we had a great experience despite the weather. I will definitely be booking with CAPT Lori for all future trips. Thank you 😊

It was a great day on the water. Beautiful sunrise. We saw a lot of birds, including the infamous whooping cranes. Best part was being with a Captain who was knowledgeable about the birds.

We've been going out with Kevin and Lori for years, and never had a bad experience. They know the area and the wildlife! As photographers, we always remember "know your gear, know your subject, know the environment." The Sims' knowledge of the areas where we don't know quite so much about the environment, is stellar. And while none of us controls the weather, and we are well aware that the wildlife is not on the payroll, Kevin and Lori still manage to provide a great experience regardless of the "uncontrollables."

Hello
The Cranes are here October until the first week of April. January, February and March are the best times for seeing the most Cranes.
Thank you
