Wish we booked the kayak fishing guide. We rented kayaks blindly, wanting to try out kayak fishing on our own. We did it all wrong and had no luck catching fish. Kayak fishing is not river kayaking. There are techniques to follow that is best...More

I really enjoyed the sunset cruise on the Skimmer last night. The hour and 15 minute trip was just the right length. We saw hundreds of birds; Captain Tommy shared facts about them and the local history. The sunset and other scenery were very pretty,...More

I think the rental charge is pretty steep. Plus, upon pickup, our cart was not fueled to the max nor did the blinkers work which is pretty dangerous when driving in traffic. The staff was made aware and were friendly but I am not sure...More

We loved our tour of the Aransas National Wildlife Refuge on the "Skimmer". We saw so many beautiful birds. My favorites were the Oyster Catchers and the Rosette Spoonbills. I highly recommend this tour. You won't regret it. The whooping cranes had already flown north...More

Coming to the area as late as we did, early April, we feared that the Whooping Cranes would all be gone. Captain Tommy not only found seven of them for us to observe, but was able to get quite close to shore with one group....More

We set out on a boat tour with Captain Tommy to see the Whooping Cranes in their natural winter breeding grounds. He got us extremely close (within 60ft). We even got to see some of them with their youngsters. We saw all kinds of birds,...More

Captain Tommy did a wonderful job of getting us close to the whooping Crane's. We got within 60 feet of a large male. He was also very knowledgeable about all the birds in the area.
