Calm and clean beach to visit w family.
We didn’t pay the $10 since u are able to park and enjoy the beach without having “ enter the parking area” but you definitely have to arrive early to get a parking spot .
Water is not” Caribbean “ type but it’s definitely not Galveston water either . It’s a good decent beach to sit back to get a tan.

Rockport beach is very nice. They charge $10 per car to get in for a day pass and $40 for a yearly pass. You can go in-and-out as you please with your pass. There are plenty of parking spaces and the beach is very clean. when you bring your stuff in they have some palapa huts where you can sit to have some shade and they also have picnic tables with a structure built around them for shade.
The water is pretty warm, like bath water. The Ocean is nice but if you are looking for big waves this beach did not have any during the 3 days we were here. Today it was like a lake with very few waves. You can walk out really far and it does not get deep. This is a great beach for kids or people who are not real good at swimming because it does stay shallow for quite a long time.
There is a shaved ice guy but other than that I did not see a lot of vendors of food. It's best to bring your own picnic and drinks.
I would definitely come back here again.

This is a great walking beach, probably about a mile long. The beach is clean with numerous palapas planted on the beach, and several covered picnic tables in the grassy area behind the small dunes. The water is usually clear, flat, and great for floating. (We say usually because it was extremely windy on several days during this visit, which made it choppy.) The water is very shallow, which allows for wading a long way out from shore. This was our third trip to Rockport. We've gone to the beach during the weekdays each time, and found the beach nearly empty in both May and September.
Rockport Beach is a city-owned Beach that is well worth the $10 per car/day entry fee. We purchased the $40 annual pass on our first visit in May 2021, and it paid for itself on that first visit. We made five visits in five days. We used it again for four more visits to the beach in September 2021. We bought another annual pass for 2022, and hope to return in September.

My husband and I always enjoy a walk along Aransas Bay at Rockport Beach Park. We always park just outside the entrance and walk the beach into the park. If you drive into the park, the cost is $5 a day ($20 for one year). There is plenty of parking inside and outside the park during off season. I am not sure about the summer months and spring break. The water is very shallow, about 2.5 feet deep for hundreds of feet from the beach. The waves are small. The park offers sand volleyball courts, some picnic tables, a few grass covered huts for shade, restrooms, a few BBQ pits and a fishing pier. There were no chairs and no benches. The park is located between the gulf (Aransas Bay) and a small saltwater inlet on the bayside. Bird watching was good there a few years ago but no more except for sandpipers and seagulls. This is the best beach in Rockport. The beach is open 7 days a week, Sunday through Monday 6am-11pm and Friday through Saturday 6am-12pm.

Beautiful and clean! We really enjoyed our day here. $10 for parking for the day and they had nice clean shaded picnic tables. They get taken fast so come early! Every single person we encountered here was extremely friendly. One of the nicest beaches i’ve been to in Texas

My husband and I enjoyed a 30 minute walk on the beach mid-week in mid-December. There was only one other family enjoying the beach. There were no seashells. We saw some seagulls and a few jellyfish. The water is extremely shallow (2-3 feet) for a long way out. Little huts were available (no extra fee) for shade. There were no chairs or food vendors. There is a $5 daily fee or $20 annual fee per vehicle. There is no charge to walk or bicycle in. No one was collecting money after 5 pm. There were a few holiday decorations in the park in December.

Our 2 year old LOVED this beach! It's only $10 for a Day Pass ($40 for an annual pass). It's VERY shallow. For an average adult, it only came up to my waist at around 150 yards out! That is amazing! It also wasn't very crowded when we went in mid-June 2022 on a Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

$5.00/day entry fee or a yearly sticker for $20.00. Nice boat launching area, ski basin, clean "white" (kind of) beach but very nice.Good parking and lots of room for special events. Nice fmily entertainment area, kids can swim and there is fishing.

The water is ok, but once you're out in the water, the sand beneath your feet can smell either like motor oil OR methane. Bobbed about in the water with grandkids, and we took turns digging sand up from under us, and smelling it. Not pleasant. Kids still had a great time, though. Found hermit crabs and such.

Perfect. No one on the beach in early December. Clean. Only minus is two off sightings of people who had dogs when dogs are not allowed. Large fines hopefully would correct this. Say....500 bucks if you can't read the signs or you couldn't care less about society?

If I am parking at the beach, can I bring my dog in the car if we only plan on going to the dog-friendly part of the beach? They won't be going to the main part, but for parking are they allowed to be in the car when I enter?
Written June 24, 2020
I did not see any dogs except for one service animal. I would leave my dog at home, safe and comfortable

In your posting you say that the Beach in Rockport is pet friendly. I see in another that dogs are not allowed. Can you verify which is correct?
Written August 7, 2019
It is both. Right before the pay station there is a section of beach that is pet friendly. It is free and very close distance to downtown. Perfect place to let fido run around for a bit.

They have three buildings (2 story) with large restrooms which I believe have showers. Restrooms are on floor one and a large room for events is on floor two. The children’s swim area is close to one of these.
Written November 21, 2019
They do have different areas that you can do that on Fulton beach road. they are just little pull over areas. There are also areas over by the little park area just past Austin Street.
