Beautiful view at the port Aransas beaches. Ships and rigs going out daily thru the channel. Surfers, shells and sea. Great family atmosphere.

I'm sure this beach must be very crowded in the Summer but in February we found it a delightful place to spend an afternoon. It is often foggy in the mornings.

My family and I enjoy going to the beach in Port Aransas. You can always find a place to sit and enjoy the water. We were there 3 months ago and are going again soon.

Hit the surf when it's clear, throw some 51 series Mirrolures, and hang on. Early morning or late evenings are best. Don't keep too many fish on the stringer as at all Gulf coast beaches there could be a generally small shark or two.

My first Texas beach experience, peaceful retreat. 70 degrees in January. Located north of Padre Island and is one of the longest barrier islands along the Texas coast.

Walked the Jettys, picked up some shells, enjoyed the solitude of a January morning. Not crowded, saw several folks with metal detectors and people fishing the Jettys

We were able to drive our car right onto the sand. I have never done that, and it was pretty cool. There are plenty of porta-johns throughout the beach, but maybe bring your own toilet paper because they didn't have very much when I was there. I would compare Port Aransas' beach to Myrtle Beach, but without all the condos and hustle and bustle. There are probably less than 10% of the restaurants and souvenir shops. The ferry to the island is a short, but quiet ride.
