Smaller state park with hiking trails and abundant wildlife- including a bobcat mom with two kittens!

Nice park. Trails are well maintained and wide. They are mostly easy trails. One trail had a steep hill, but it is not too hard and it was fun. The bathroom is large and heated. It was well maintained and cleaned. We had to cut our trip short, but really enjoyed our night there.

Stayed in a screened shelter recently. Some of the shelters and little cabins are right on the lake for easy access. Choose the outer sites of the loops for the best spots. Shelter was clean and in good repair. Restrooms were in good repair and very clean with nice showers! Nice trails and the trout pond was lovely. Did notice some campsites with alot of downed brush and debris around them. I would not want to set up camp with a large mound of dead brush right next to my tent or trailer. However, these were few and definitely the exception. Swim area was clean and not heavily populated on weekend of 7/18. The lake is reclaiming a few picnic sites near the boat ramp as the bank is giving way. Clearly marked and roped off for safety. Staff was friendly and welcoming. As a single person camping, I liked that they patrol the area regularly, too. Saw rabbit and deer. Definitely will return.
