We were out on the town with friends doing a pub crawl. We stopped in for a drink (The captain and coke) tasted like coke and water, the band wasn’t very entertaining, everything sounded the same. We didn’t stay long, wasn’t a great experience but...More

I am well aware of the fact that this is a saloon. The only reason I decided to try it was because the food network recommended it for their red chile. I like a bowl of spicy chile even in July and so my partner...More

The burger was great. The seasoning on the burger was terrific. The bartender had me try 2 of the local craft beers. Both of them were excellent. They have karaoke on some nights. Old time saloon with a Gruene Hall feel.

Cold A/C in the Texas August heat. Plenty of good Texas (and other states too) beer. Real bar for adults, and tables for families with kiddos as well. Originally opened in 1871, don't miss this stop!

Stopped in at 3:00 on a Friday afternoon. Kind of the wrong timing if you are looking for entertainment. Food was decent, chili especially.

If you go for early supper, you might find the service disorganized and the food almost well -prepared. Our visit included a filming session where this large, cake, composed of life-like menu items created by Two Tarts, a local bakery. Well, nothing could drag the...More

The chili is the bomb. I've tried the single shot and today tried the double shot. My sinuses are clear and it was the best chili I've ever had.
