This is a great way to learn more about New Braunfels and it's history. Inexpensive,informational and fun. There is also a gift shop with everything from books on local history to wonderful gifts for family and friends.

This museum tells the story of the first settlers in New Braunfels. There are many vignettes showing the different businesses/occupations with their tools, clothing etc. We enjoyed learning about the early development of the area and were glad we visited.

The Sophienburg provides an in-depth view of the area's history of being settled by German immigrants. Early development is displayed with emphasis on the settlers' roots, and how they guided and influenced local growth, while cherishing and maintaining their heritage.

The early history of New Braunfels is on display here. Lots of artifacts gives a real sense of what early life for the German settlers was like.
