Canyon Lake is a very nice lake in the Texas hill country. I'm not sure how big it is but I would guess it is at least 25k surface acres. The lake has clean blue river fed water. There are ample public boat ramps and...More

Wildflower Restaurant, nestled in the hills of Canyon Lake, stands out amongst the junipers and sage. Small and unassuming the doors open to a culinary experience that is fit for a king. I had a smoke board of Venison sausage, smoked salmon mousse, Tuscan roasted...More

We rented a boat and spent 4 glorious hours tubing and wakeboarding. The water was gorgeous and we had a wonderful time!

We had some time to kill, so decided to drive to Canyon Lake. What a great decision! This is a beautiful lake with plenty of walking trails. Numerous deer run wild making for great photos.

This area is absolutely beautiful. Camping, hiking, tubing, kayaking, Horseback riding, boating, or just plain hanging out you will not want to miss this area. A must see area of Texas hill country that God himself keeps an awesome inspiring finger on. DO NOT MISS!!

My husband and I got married under the big live oaks on the hill above Canyon Lake. It is so pretty and a great place for a picnic. You can walk across the dam & really enjoy the scenery.

Had a great time at the lake and rec area. We stayed in a cottage in the rec area. Each cottage had a full kitchen, fire pit, cover picnic table and deck attached. Kids enjoyed the playground and swings. Spent most of our time at...More

Lake sucks for boaters trying to find a ramp on north side that’s open. What’s the use in having boat ramps when half of them are closed. Then when we finally found one it didn’t open till 8am. WTH.

My family spent the afternoon on one of the beaches here. The beach that we visited was not sand but small pebbles (not sure about the others). It's probably a good idea to bring some shoes that you can wear in the water that won't...More

To my knowledge there is no restriction for those but you probably have to stay within reasonable distance to the shore
