I lived in San Antonio for 10 years and we would go to canyon lake in the summer time and do some boat rides and swimming, we would eat in the German eating establishments.

We had a great time tubing the river. I would warn people that the river current is up this year and be careful if you have young children with you.

We went with another family and rented a pontoon boat for the weekend. The water was clear and beautiful! The bathrooms are very small but I was very glad to have them!

Wonderful park, lots of deer and squirrels. Area 1 has some beautiful sites. Dump station only as usual with any campground around water. If you are a fulltimer, ask about extensions. We stayed over the winter before the big flood over Memorial Day weekend 2015. Area 1 was the only area open after that so be sure and call ahead... More

Canyon Lake has tons of great camping and boating places. Great for a day trip or to stay a while. Guadalupe river rafting is close.
