We were told by a local that the best view of the sunset and lake was from the dam. We went before sunset and discovered that a lot of locals liked to come here. We decided to walk on the dam for exercise from one gate to another--.8 mile each way. Great walk. we then sat on the edge and... More

Beautiful views and lots of water fun...the flood in 98 created a new canyon on canyon lake and washed up long forgotten dinosaur tracks....you have to make a special appointment to go and see the Dino tracks.... There is so much to enjoy on this beautiful lake.

Canyon lake is wonderful to visit with the family. There are plenty of picnic tables and anchored grills for a cook out. The price was $7 per vehicle the last time we went but well worth it. The scenery is beautiful with hills in the back drop. The water has been high due the the unusual amount of rain this... More

It is such a pretty area with lots of views from different angles of the lake. The water looked so peaceful and welcoming that I want to move there!

We climbed down the rocky cliff and sat on a large rock to soak n the scenery. People were floating on their party rafts and sailing, sking and having a great time. The climb up took me awhile but I made it!!! The view was worth the climb!!!

We only saw a small portion of southern Canyon Lake, but it was beautiful. Since we went in April, there were not a lot of water activities occurring, but we did a quick hike down to the shore of the lake and then walked along the top of the dam. The top of the dam had beautiful views and a... More

If you are into boating and clear water it's the place to go. Check it out with power boat or for sailing. There is also camping on the lake.
