We’ve been to Gruen hall when big names have played as well as when local musicians performed. Always a great time with the old country hall feel. Headed back tomorrow night. Must see!

Gruene Hall is like stepping back in time - old wood floors, benches and windows - the old bar, and all the pictures of the famous musicians and singers who performed there, such as Willie Nelson. The bathrooms are on the side/behind the stage, and the...More

Have to see a concert at least once here. Rush seating causes long entry line which wouldn't be fun in the heat. The charm is the jam packed hot atmosphere and old wooden tables and benches. Only serve wine and beer and you have to...More

This historical place is billed as Texas' Oldest Dance Hall and it was a pleasure to visit. We were awed by its originality and its long history, as evidenced by the many pictures that lined the walls of the entertainers that performed here over the...More

Best evening of our trip to Texas. If Walt Wilkins is playing - go. Great place, atmosphere, and mix of locals and out of towners. Gruene is nice, but the dance hall is unique. Love it.

The do have music during the day. We listened to a band that played 1-5 in the afternoon. It is a good old fashioned country dance hall so no food, but several fabulous restaurants next door. Hope you stop by!

There are huge parking lots in the area, and they are all free. You can easily walk to the venue because they are so close.
