I love it here they have live bands pretty near every night all year round. I mean every big name in country music has played Gruene. This is a gem..... A must if your in Austin a fun place to hangout.

We were there on a weekend with a sold out show and still found parking. No up front but not too far.

I know the movie "Michael" was filmed in Gruene. I googled "Pure Country" and it said it was filmed in May Pearl, which is south of Dallas.
