We visited the park a few weeks after it conducted a partial reopening. The COVID crisis required the park to restrict attendance, keep strict counts on lazy river usage and act mask mandates while in shops and food lines. Only the “New” side of the park was open and one of the lazy rivers remained closed on that side. We had free passes or it probably wasn’t worth going at list price. The park was still fun though, and we had a good time. It will be better when the park can fully open, but that could take quite a while to happen,

I've been going to Schlitterbahn for over 25 years and this is the 1st year that I'm leaving an average review. Due to the COVID Lockdown and the City of New Braunfels, Schlitterbahn was not able to operate at full capacity. Only the East side of the park was open. This was disappointing because there are only 4 rides, 2 wave pools, one kiddie pool, one kids area and only 2 swim up bars. I was disappointed that even though the East side was open the "longest river ride in Texas" known as "The Falls" was closed. Again, I understand that due to the lockdown things were going to be different but it was a disappointment to see how much was actually shut down. The other thing that was a pain was the mask mandate for a water park. You don't have to wear a mask when you're in the water, but you have to wear one standing in line for food or go to the restroom. Anytime we had to use the restroom we had to go back to our locker, get the mask, wait in line for the restroom, use the restroom, go back to our locker, put mask away and then get back in water. What a waste of time and energy! Another that was annoying was that we actually had to wait in line to get in one of the wave pools and the swim up bar/heated pool area. Are you kidding me!? The place is already only operating at 25% and now we have to wait to get in a wave pool. I understand waiting in line for a ride but waiting in for a wave pool or a swim up bar...No thank you. I'll just go home and get in a kiddie pool and make my own drinks. It is beyond stupid and too much government overreach on businesses like Schlitterbahn that they can't give the public what we want. We are adults and don't need the government to tell us what we can and can't do. If you're too scared to go out then stay home. The rest of us who enjoy life and can make our own decisions don't need the government or other people telling us how we spend our time and money. The City of New Braunfels needs to get their act together and let business operate at 100% or they will drive away businesses.

Park is Ok But Small, Rather buy season passes to Six Flags , Not worth the price, too small of a park. I would never buy passes again to small of a park and very few rides.

The visit to the Schlitterbahn was planned long before COVID 19. We got there fairly early in the day and were able to go wherever we wanted but later in the day, it got very busy. Still had a good time. Kids went back for a second day before we went home.

Don't know if I should leave it one star. It doesn't say on line that only 3 slides are open. There is over an hour wait to get on the lazy river. The girl handling the rafts on the one slide we went on wasn't strong enough to lift the rafts so there was a malfunction. The last straw. . . The whole park is paranoid about covid but when a child had diarrhea that was running down its leg they did nothing to clean up. Don't waste your money.
