Very pleasant experience.

Our favorite of all the Muenster area wineries. Incredible views combined with affordable apps and wine. The staff was very attentive and helpful. The covered outdoor patio that overlooks the valley below makes for a really pleasant place to eat, drink, and chill.

Very accommodating staff
Jun 2020 • Couples
We walked through the door right before closing and the staff was gracious enough to allow us a quick tasting even though they were starting to clean up for the night. Delicious wines! Spectacular views of the Red river valley! A little bit of a driving adventure to find the tasting room, but well worth it!

Spectacular views but the wines seemed a little young to our taste
Mar 2020
The viognier and reserve tempranillo were the only wines we enjoyed. All of the others seemed a little young to our taste buds. We will be back in a couple of years to see if the wine has improved.

Remote working nature lovers can have it all with Wi-Fi camping
Oct 2019 • Couples
We found 4R Ranch on Hipcamp app while looking for camping grounds with Wi Fi access. We LOVE to unwind in nature but I work on commission 7 days a week so it behooves me to stay connected to my clients and be available when they contact me and conduct business remotely as usual. However, I DID relax a lot and I worked from my phone in a hammock, tent, picnic table and yoga mat. We definitely got to chilk and enjoy and I didn't feel stressed about being unavailable.

Campsites 8 and 9 are less private but have the best continuous Wi Fi access near the showers and campsite entrance. All the campgrounds have space and a great view and a fire pit. Campsites 1-7 are much more private toward the back and have their own porta potty as well but you could easily walk or drive up the road to the bathrooms/showers which is no big deal. You can always check your WiFi messages or email when you go toward the showers. Water was warm in the pull chain showers and there were sinks and plugs available for charging our devices. I could not get my laptop to hook up to the free WiFi but our phones did with no problem. We did not have phone service but we used the campground free Wi Fi for what's app, email, YouTube for music and yoga classes etc. While enjoying nature. We visited the lovely 4R wine tasting room and had a lovely sunset evening with a red wine flight and cheeseboard. The family business owners of 4R Ranch/Vinyard/Tasting Room/campground were all beyond welcoming and helpful. We really enjoyed learning about the family business and how the vineyard started and how everyone in the family contributes their unique gifts to this gem of a place. We will definitely be back for another weekend get away in nature.

Spectacular views but the wine...
Oct 2019 • Friends
Hill Country views in North Texas. It’s a haul to get there but worth the trip for the location and outdoor deck. Plenty of wines to choose from but that may be a hinderance instead of an asset. Wine tastings are served in mini cork topped bottles and poured at your own pace. Good concept but they get warm quickly in the heat. Bad combination since the wines are not chilled to begin with. Tasted many red wines but not much of a difference between them. One thing in common was a pretty musty nose on each wine. Bottom line - 5 for the view and deck - 2 for the wine. Tip - don’t wash your car before you go. 😊

Something went wrong....
Aug 2019
Some friends of ours took us on a tour of Muenster and it's local wineries. We picked up some German cheeses, sausages and crackers at Fischer's Meat Market and headed to the local wineries. 4R wasnt actually on our list, but was recommended to us by one of the other local wineries. We figured we would have to try it since it was on our way home. Driving the dirt road, we came upon the winery. At first glace, we found the best place to sample wines in Texas! Set up on a hill with spectacular views. We were blown away how pretty this was... then it all went down hill from there. Four of us tried the 5 wine flight and got pretty much every wine on the menu with all our different tastes. As we began tasting the first wine, the beautiful views were suddenly the last thing on my mind. I have never tasted something so bad. So thinking it had to get better, I continued on. As I moved down my tasting jars, I got to one and dont ask the name, because honestly, I didnt care as it smelled like a dill pickle, yes, like a PICKLE! Didnt taste like one though, it was awful. One of our friends took one sip of her wines and was done, leaving each of her jars completely full. I'd like to say it was my taste buds, but 4 of us all had the same experience. The only wine that tasted somewhat good was their sweet desert wine. I've never experienced anything like this and I drink a LOT of wine from all over.
So, the only thing I can think is,,, something went wrong. Bottles were left open and went bad, maybe left in the sun and went south.... something, because if not... just wow.
Now, I have convinced my friends that we have to go back after a month or 2 and see if it was just that bad or a complete fluke. Will update my review if I change my mind!

Thank you for taking the time to let us know about your experience. It is both unfortunate and surprising that you did not find a wine you appreciated, especially given the long list of awards and accolades our wines have won. We understand tasting wine is a subjective endeavor and palates evolve. We would love the opportunity to walk you through each of our wines on the list at your first opportunity.

Shockingly beautiful views! I want to live here!
Jun 2019 • Family
Fantastic wines and the live music outside with the views made for a lovely day. To get there from I-35, you have to drive through a fantastic turbine farm (windmills) and a dirt road that will lead you to amazing views. 10 times better than Napa! (No traffic!!)

It’s a drive but it’s nice
Jun 2019
My mother and I where told about this place and wanted to check it out! It’s a bit of a drive and you hit dirt roads but it is very peaceful! Everyone was extremely friendly and helped us with picking our wine. Would recommend their dessert wine, both my mom and I enjoyed it more than expected!

Beautiful Location Average Wine
May 2019 • Friends
Great place to hang out for the atmosphere, view from the hilltop, live music, shady outdoor patio overlook. Clean. Friendly. Relaxed. Great presentation with glass tasting mini jars; nice wine glass. My (bolder) red wine flight was just ok. I ended up pouring them all, together in my glass. Nice looking charcuterie boards, but we didn’t order one. Beautiful, climate controlled indoor seating as well. Great bathrooms. Corn hole game and swing on large grassy area. A little drive on a white dirt road (we used our nav), up a hill, passing/close view of wind turbines in juxtaposition to working oil pumps. Driveway is a little climb, narrowish, with a sharpish turn and major humps over culverts, so may not be RV accessible-
