Once we found the place (not a lot of signage) we were pleasantly surprised. What a lovely view and outdoor deck. The atmosphere is delightful. The server tried (she was new) and did her best. The flights were enjoyable and reasonably priced. However, our wine glasses were dirty. They had a film from the dishwasher and when you went to taste your wine and do a swirl and sniff...you smelled dishwasher detergent and not the wine. (not good!) The food we ordered was very tasty. We would definitely come back.

Our favorite of all the Muenster area wineries. Incredible views combined with affordable apps and wine. The staff was very attentive and helpful. The covered outdoor patio that overlooks the valley below makes for a really pleasant place to eat, drink, and chill.

My hubby and I travel to Saint Jo and Muenster often for relaxation on the weekends. We can easily spend the whole day or weekend between these two towns and have!! This last trip, we set out to find this winery that had been mentioned in a local fort Worth magazine 360West. Ends up, it was very close to our favorite winery we travel to often. In fact, I bet it was within 5 miles. It was a little hard to find, but we traveled up a gravel road slowly and enjoyed the view o the Longhorn cattle along the way as well as a lot of the Texas wind turbines. Finally we came to a small sign saying 4 R Ranch and started up another incline passing a beautiful antebellum mansion surrounded by vineyards, then we kept going up and finally came to the top where there was a modern Austin stone tasting room overlooking a breath taking view and patio/deck where you can sit and enjoy your favorite of their many wines. The wine is very good....have only been once so not sure which is my favorite. There were so many I didn't get to taste them all on my first trip. I will be going back very soon.

Having to base this review on the scenic views, as we arrived before open hours on our wine tour of the Saint Jo/Muenster area. Really, you cannot beat the spectacular view of the rolling hills from the outdoor seating area. I'm sure with a glass of wine and a cheese plate, there is no better place to watch the sun set in north Texas. Will be back when it's open.

Thank you so much for taking the time to leave us a review. We're so glad you were able to enjoy the beautiful scenery but regret you were unable to enjoy our facilities fully. We do hope that you return soon so that we may show you what makes 4R one of the best wineries in the area. If you come on the weekend you'll likely find live music and other special touches. See you soon!

Crazy enough, we decided to visit this winery today, and upon arriving realized it was there one year anniversary celebration! We’ll definitely be back again.

This winery is located outside of Muenster, TX. Be aware —you will drive on unpaved roads to reach them. We have a truck and on the way in, I was glad we didn’t have my little car. But it’s well worth the drive!

Once you arrive, the Red River Valley views are breathtaking, the facilities are beautiful and the wine and food are wonderful.

Because it was an anniversary celebration, the place was packed—we were surprised! We sat out on the patio and each had a wine tasting and shared a large cheeseboard. Even though they were very busy, the service was prompt and very friendly. They even checked up on us several times.

The live music was fun and so wonderful!

We live within an hour of the winery and didn’t know they existed until today. It’s worth the drive—just do it!

So glad we found 4R Ranch! First, it's about 6 miles down county roads, which are unpaved but with decent gravel. Their signage isn't posted yet, either, so you're constantly wondering if the GPS is taking you to the right place, until you finally spot some vineyards. But the drive is pleasant and in the country, so that's just fine. The way in/out is one lane with two traffic, but easy enough to pull to the side. The tasting room is in a new building, and nicely done. Seems to be plenty of parking. Plenty of friendly staff around, and they'll help you well as you choose what to taste. There's quite a big selection of both whites and reds; they said viognier and cabernet sauvignon grapes are grown on the property. They offer 3 or 5 flight tastings, $9 or $14, and you can mix and match your wines. Love how they've put the tastings into to these little corked jars that you can take to a table out on the desk and enjoy the beautiful breeze (or wind, depending on the weather), while you taste at your own pace. They'll give you a glass to pour into for that, but we also enjoyed some side by side tastings right out of the little jars! We took the list with us to the table so we could read as we tasted. You can also buy wines by the glass if you prefer. The view from the deck looks into the near and far hills, and you really do feel like you're out in the country - no cityscape at all. They have a nice looking cheese plate for purchase if you want to have something more substantial than the oyster crackers they offer at the bar - we chose not to because we were going for a late lunch after our tasting. Which means we missed the live country music coming in at 3pm (Saturday) - next time!! We will definitely return with more family and friends to enjoy the wine, music and deck. We didn't check, but we'd love if you could bring your own food like so many of the places in CA. We enjoyed the cabernet sauvignon and the Grenache the most, along with the Ranch Red, but it was fun to sample all, even if some weren't to our taste. Their little gift shop had some cute winery-store items. We heard they just opened last November, and we're wishing them a successful business - we enjoyed and look forward to coming back.

The 4R is a large ranch and winery located on a winding hilly area along the Red River along the Texas Oklahoma border. Its a bit of a trip but the scenery is well worth it. Nice breeze, cold wine, and comfortable seating make for a pleasant afternoon. You will enjoy, great wine also.

4R ranch is gorgeously tucked away in the trees and gravel roads or Muenster, TX. Their facilities are new and clean and feel like a Texas country-style mini resort. The wines are delish and the view from the back patio is a peaceful and relaxing view the vista behind the winery. On my first and successive visits, I was there for bike rides that utilized the gravel roads, bringing us around and under those massive wind turbines in Muenster and finished with a superb tasting at 4R. I didn't want to leave and I cannot wait to get back!

Take the time to search out this winery! They have some very good wines. I suggest you pay for a tasting or a glass of wine and sit on the patio and enjoy the wine and great view. Who know that there were Hill Country quality wineries just an hour and a half from the metroplex.
