We are an official surf school in the south of Gran Canaria. With the headquarters and classroom at the foot of the sand dunes of Maspalomas, we offer high-quality surf classes – from a one-day-experience for beginners to intermediate/advanced classed. Thanks to being mobile, we choose every day the best beach for learning depending on the conditions – great waves, fun and safe tuition at non-touristy, uncrowded beaches all around the island!

Best Surf school ever

Since 6 years now we have taken some surf classes every year, the team of this surf school is absolutely amazing. You learn a lot even from day one on and it is always a lot of fun. The teachers are very professional and taking care of anyone in the group, also you get video analysis and photos from the day! We can absolutely recommend this great place, Ersin & Martina

Excellent activity for older kids!

Our kids age 13 and 16 went for a one-day surf lesson with Surf Canaries and enjoyed themself very much! They were picked up from the hotel, got some theory lessons, and two times one hour in the water with a picknick lunch on the beach in between. There are lots of instructors in the water to assist everyone and the groups are not that big. Lots of photo's are taken and shared free-to-use on Facebook.
And kids are exhausted in the evening, so you can plan a romantic evening with your partner :-)
Definitely recommended!

Great 2 days of surfing

We together with my sister did 2 days of surfing with these amazing guys! And due to great instructions and help we were able to catch waves =) These days were really very impressive. I hope we will back and surf with them again one day. I will 100% recommend them, because we had a lot of fun and great experience!
One more important moment - they give some sandwitch to survive through the day, and you can always share it with the funniest dog, which is also the member of the team!

Fun day for the kids!

Our kids (18 and 12) had a great day with Surf Canaries today. They came back excited and happy. The staff were friendly and great couches! Fun!

We enjoyed the surfing course given by Surf Canaries, and also they learned us a lot. Thanks to their learning method we were able to get on the surf boards very rapidly and enjoyed the waves of the sea. Certainly a place to return if we are back on the Island for surfing.

The highlight of my holiday

Whether you are a novice who wants to try surfing for the first time or more experienced, you won't find a better teacher than Samir at Surf Canaries. He was funny, helpful, supportive, so knowledgable and very generous with his advice. I had never surfed before and didn't know what to expect but now I can't wait to try again and put into practice all the tips I learned from Samir.

Lunch, local hotel transfers and all the equipment you need are included in the price and they even take photos of you that you can download for free afterwards.

When I go back to Gran Canaria I'll be booking more than one day with Surf Canaries - I can't wait!

Second time here and I can only confirm my first impression: genuinely good people! They opened a surf school because they really want to teach you something.
Even though all of them are great surfers themselves and their hearts surely bleed when they just see the great waves go by without riding them -- they will stand on your side in the water, helping you, pushing you, correcting you or at least make a joke if you repeated the same mistake for the 5th time.
I'm really grateful I found these people. Thanks again, I'll sure be back!

We loved our day surfing!

Danny came and collected us in the bus from our hotel and we immediately felt at ease due to his warm, friendly nature.

Upon arrival at the surf school, we met the other people in our group and took part in a group tutorial before getting fitted into our wetsuits etc. There was a good mix of ages and nationalities in our beginners group. Then down to the beach, where the real fun began!

It was great to be split into smaller groups as the instructors were able to really focus on our needs and help us develop. It wasn't long before all our beginners group were standing on their boards. Such good fun!

After a quick lunch break, Danny gave each of us a personalised development point and we carried on improving our technique (or trying to!) It was a great touch to have the photographer to capture the experience, which we shared together during the slideshow back at the surf school. Awesome to be able to access these through their Facebook page as well.

We're really glad we booked our lesson and can't wait to surf some more in the future!

As a family took 3 day course, complete beginners, and were all standing surfing day 1.
Excellent tuition in small groups and use of video feedback on day 3. Really friendly, encouraging and knowledgable instructors. All kit, lunch and transfers were provided in cost.
Shop purchases also come with discount.
Olympics Tokyo 2020 here we come!

Best Thing We've Ever Done on Vacation!

From the start, Surf Canaries provided us with great information and everything we needed to know about making the most of our 3 days of surfing lessons with them. They picked us up the first morning and took us to the surf school where we received our gear and a lesson in basic technique. Then it was out to the beach where the fun really began! Our 10 & 16 year-old daughters will talk about this week for the rest of their lives - we had such fun! I was amazed that all three of us were catching waves on the very first day. The techniques taught are guaranteed to have anyone up on the board in no time. The staff are highly attentive with an eye to safety at all times. Everything is taken care of from lessons to lunch to just enough break time to suit everyone's needs. You can even see & save your photos from Facebook the same day. I cannot recommend Surf Canaries enough to anyone wanting to take surf lessons in Gran Canaria - they're the best!
