If you have never been to Sparkles Showbar, let us tell you what to expect when you do visit:•We are open 7 nights a week,doors open from 8pm til late•We have discounted prices on all single cocktails, jugs of cocktails and 2 bottles of beer from 8pm till 10.30pm.•Karaoke begins at 9pm until showtime and then resumes after showtime. The main show 7 nights a week is Sparkles Own Drag Comedy Variety Show with Andi Martine,Dinah Might,Daniella Mantrapp,Ginger Rodgers,Miss DQ & the Showman Michael Marouli.•Tuesdays and Saturdays we have the fabulous Sensations Show,an award winning Canarian dance troupe with amazing costumes and routines followed by Sparkles Show.

We had four fantastic nights here and love the place. The staff are all so friendly and have great banter between themselves and the guests. The drinks are reasonable and 15 Euro for a bottle of cava while watching free entertainment is great value. All the drags are excellent, special mention to - Miss Ash (bab), very friendly with plenty of miles left on the clock! Samantha Moans (or is it Ferne Mcann?), speaks a different language but great fun. Bonnie & Clyde, what a babe. Dinah, she loves shopping at Lidl. Brandy, a hottie with an unusual camel toe! Ursula, a great singer who's voice funnily randomly turns into Rambo. Reina, another babe. All the floor staff are great also, Ray is lovely and always smiling. Keep up the good work and hope to see you again.

This is an excellent cabaret bar, with new management and brand new acts. We had visited frequently under the previous ownership, but recently attended the new format bar.
Drinks are reasonably priced for a cabaret bar which gives you lots of entertainment well into the evening. The artists interacted with the customers both during and outside of performances and there are lots of bar staff roving the floor. You can go to the bar yourself to order drinks, but you should keep corridors clear during the acts as the performances aren’t limited to the stage. We thought that the bar design was ideal for customers to see the stage and acts, and they were worth seeing. The sound systems and technical stuff certainly seemed to us to be good quality.
Despite visiting cabaret bars over many years, we had seen only a tiny percentage of what proved to be well entertaining performances. We had a great night out and will surely visit again.

We had a Fab night at Sparkles last night. It's changed ownership but is still similar to the old Sparkles. Dinah, Bonnie and Heather were excellent. We have massive respect to anyone who gets on stage to entertain people so a big shout out to the drags. The bar and floor staff are also excellent and the drinks are very reasonable considering you're watching free entertainment. We will certainly be back for another Fab night while on holiday.

This was without doubt the worst entertainment we’ve seen on our holiday (hotel entertainment included)! Think we may have been unlucky on the night we went to sparkles, as it was more two singers “the gangsters” than it was a drag show. “The gangsters” tried their best to put on a show, however, this was recommended as a drag entertainment bar, not mediocre hotel singers. If we wanted to watch mediocre hotel singers, we would have stayed in the hotel and got the drinks for free. If you want people to leave their hotel and spend money in the bar, make it worth while- complete disappointment!! Next, the drinks! The staff did keep saying they were short staffed and were apologetic, however, we waited 35 minutes for our drinks on the first order, and literally couldn’t even place an order for drinks the second time despite holding the card up constantly. The actual drag show was ‘ok’. Two entertainers…. Bonnie and another (forgot their name)…. The one who’s name we forgot was actually quite funny…. But the actual drag acts were few and far between. In a nutshell, don’t waste your time in this bar. Get to Ricky’s on the ground floor! They know how to put on a show and the full audience gives a standing ovation every time… a lot can be learned from them. Not impressed by sparkles bar, or show, without doubt the worst entertainment/show we seen on this holiday!!!

A few other queer pals raved about Sparkle and how great it was and I was sadly disappointed. The older drag queen just said some flat out racist stuff and then when everyone in the place was noticeably uncomfortable said it was a joke. The other queens had to repeatedly say that they didn’t mean to offend and it’s all in good fun however the comments weren’t even in a joke set up so was mostly just out of the blue, confusing racist remarks. It’s unfortunate because the two other queens we saw were good but the older queen (that seems to have the run of the place?) just brought the whole place down and so we all left early to go elsewhere.
The service from the bar staff is great and they are prompt in their taking your order and getting it to you. They are the only reason I didn’t give this one out of five. It’s a shame that they have to put up with this otherwise.

I know Sparkles has a huge following but this is my review of this venue! Been coming here for years. Owners have changed due to covid it happens but Sparkles has lost its Spark.
We ordered Vodka and a mixer and you could tell it wasn’t Smirnoff which we didn’t mind because we didn’t state premium but when looked over the menu I realised I was charged for the price of Smirnoff. Thought it was a mistake…it happens ordered again same thing. Wasn’t value for money at all specially if they are ripping you off. The show sadly is dire. So so so dated it’s unreal. Other venues mix it up with more current stuff or even more comical stuff. The sound system when they talk on the mic was awful you couldn’t understand what was being said so was pointless in trying to pay attention. We was so bored by the time we left we was tempted to go home and sleep. (We didn’t we went to another venue)
I used the toilet very clean but when the bar staff comes running around bagging on the door while I’m queuing and waiting to then say “ hurry up you two I’m waiting” looks at me and says “ they’re always in there taking lines when I need the toilet”
I’m no prude it happens but seriously to have it that blatant shocked even me and they didn’t seem to care that it was happening! Sadly won’t return ever but I’m just one customer I’m sure my non-presents won’t go missed.

Absolutely love this place if you can't have a laugh here you need a sense of humour transplant.
(Thick skin also required)
Ended up staying the whole night spent way too much money but who cares an absolute scream.
Hen doo from derry sitting next to us were an absolute riot too.
Two of the queen's sat and had a drink and a laugh with us after the show just to add to the night.
Waiting staff were amazing and on point.

Amazing queens performing new shows every night.
Bar staff are super welcoming and attentive drinks are fast flowing and super strong great value for money.
The decor is pure glitzy Camp & Tacky perfect for the Cabaret. Tables are clean bathrooms are clean.
The owner is doing a great job of keeping it on trend and current and is also a hilariously funny comedy queen!
This place keeps me coming back to GC year in year out!

Visited twice recently on our 2 week holiday
Tuesday show was incredible, really entertaining, with a very big talented cast of males & females. Saturday show was fantastic too but had more adult content
It's highly entertaining & really great vibe there. Staff are excellent & I had to mention this fact, they work so hard
Highly recommended 👌 for over 18s.

I wish Brandon luck but at the minute Sparkles has lost its sparkle.
The floor staff apart from one are slow, happy hour they should be encouraging and asking people if they want another to keep them in for an hour. Karaoke is dire sounds so low you can't hear it outside which to be fair is probably down to restrictions.
The queen's were saved by Dinah, she was at her best with the banter and old school proper drag comedy. Great to see her back and smiling btw! Brandon is a showman, needs to give some banter on the mic towards his audience have confidence its now his place to run. It was just a slow start as there needs to be more involvement and proper drag comedy not just lyp sync. Drag bars need saving from this new ru paul crap.

Don't need to book for Sparkles, is good to get a seat early although the show doesn't usually start till late.Unless different thus time of year..You can sit inside or outside.
