About
The House of Illusion presents a brand new show for 2021 At the House of Illusion, you will be taken on a journey through a mysterious world of comedy, sleight of hand, manipulation, escapology and of course grand Illusion. You will be greeted by our attentive staff at the top of the grand staircase and will be escorted to our beautiful Houdini's Attic terrace or Houdini Lounge where you can enjoy a drink whilst you wait for your entrance into the theatre. The night begins as you are entertained at your tables by our close up magicians, and presented with a delicious meal (with the dinner ticket) and all inclusive drinks. The amazement starts to kick in as we explore a world full of mystery, magic, and bewilderment. You will be full of amazement as the performers leave you lost for words with shadowography, manipulation, theatre of the mind, and of course grand, mind-blowing Illusions! You will experience truly spectacular happenings all in the space of one night.

We spent 3 or 4 nights out of our 10 in the house of Illusion and we had a great night every time. We went to the Tributes show and the Musicals and both were a fantastic night out. It was my daughters Birthday on one of the nights and the staff went out of their way to make it a fantastic night out for her. Would highly recommend and we will definitely be back. Big shout out to Lee, Gemma and Cassie. See you all soon

Myself and my husband went to the illusion show. We paid for silver which included drinks dinner and show. When we arrived we got a lovely surprise the place was lovely and the staff were all so friendly as we didn’t know what to expect The minute we sat down they came with our drinks, the performers came to the table before the show doing tricks and they were brilliant. The food was lovely better then expected. The show started it was great at first,as in the first two illusions but for us it went downhill from there it got quite cheesy and the magic got a bit childish and some stages I was thinking what I’m doing sitting here watching this.Overall it’s a good night out but don’t be expecting to much from the show itself

One of my favourite things about the holiday. An amazing night! Such nice staff and the interaction with customers after the show was fantastic. Couldn’t recommend it enough!

Amazing evening! We went for the drinks only option and the staff were constantly seeing did we want more jugs of beer / bottles of wine. All of the performers were fantastic.
We went back again for the magic show it was amazing!
Staff are just so friendly & accommodating Lee went above and beyond for us & even got the type of gin I like behind the bar for the show when it wasn’t on the menu! That on top of Harry’s magic tricks & gemmas singing the whole team will just blow your mind!
Would absolutely recommend and we will be back again next year!
Thanks again you were all great ❤️❤️

My favourite night in Salou, a must see event, and not every owner would spend hours after a show meeting all of his guests, can’t recommend enough

This pains me to write this review as I always rate this place so highly. But after watching the Musicals show on 18th of September, I feel I have to say something about the lack of covid safety on display and the lack of professionalism especially from the singer Lee. Lee behaved obnoxiously and inappropriately towards me and my partner at the show. He started by constantly mocking and imitating our North East accents. Whilst this was mildly amusing at first, he carried on doing this constantly at us whilst we were trying to watch the show. During the show, he would keep coming up to us and shouted the same phrase at us over and over again distracting us from enjoying the show and he became more and more annoying and repetitive. He then upped his game by repeatedly grabbing my partner, trying to hug her and force her physically to wave her arms for the performance whilst not wearing a mask. She had to bite his arm to get him off her. We witnessed the DJ on several occasions throughout the night not wearing his mask while talking to customers at his booth also not wearing masks. Because of the volume of the music, their heads were extremely close together and talking loudly at each other. As the drink flowed, more and more customers were walking around the venue and going to the toilets without bothering to wear their masks, which the venue states must be worn when not sitting at your table. No customers were ever challenged about this by any staff members. We did not feel safe throughout the night and Lee made us feel very uneasy and uncomfortable.
Considering most of the customers are tourists who must pass a covid test to be allowed on the flight home, I expected the staff to take this very seriously. We spent the night worrying we were going to catch covid instead of being able to relax and enjoy the show. Then after the show ended, we went onto the patio to try and enjoy a drink before going back to our hotel. Lee came over to our table, again with no mask on and tried to hug my partner again. She tried to push him away but he was persistent. He kept saying "I'm vaccinated, it's ok". We told him to leave us alone but he continued to talk to us without his mask. As we all know, vaccinated people can carry the virus and still transmit it to others. We told him this but he just kept insisting we were fine as he was vaccinated and we couldn't catch it. He eventually left us alone and went to sit on the table behind us with some young girls. We could hear him still mocking us. At this point I got angry as my partner lost her dad to covid and the night had upset her. I went over to Lee and shouted, "You do realise that she lost her dad to this thing you're laughing and joking about". He just responded with "Yeah well, maybe I'll get sacked. I hope I do."
We'd had enough and just wanted to leave. We asked for our bill for the drinks we'd just had and we waited a very long time for it, feeling more and more uncomfortable with each passing minute. In the end, I went to ask the DJ where our bill was. He could see I was annoyed and asked me what was wrong. I asked him if I could speak to Rodney, the manager, but was told he'd already gone home. So I sat down with the DJ and explained my concerns with him about the evening and Lee's behaviour. He spent the whole conversation talking over the top of me and just insisting that they take covid safety very seriously and was very defensive of Lee. I gave up in the end, paid our bill and left.
As I said previously, I usually have a fantastic time here and have visited many times. But I'm afraid in these pandemic times were living in, the staff did not make me feel safe and made what should have been a fantastic final night in Salou, a soured and scary experience.

House of Illusion is run by a family from England, it’s different and unique. Overall, our time here was okay but the show could be condensed. We expected more based on reviews so it was disappointing.

Timetable:
20.30 sat at table
21.30 show started
22.10 everyone served main course
“20 minute break” - was told it would only be 20 minutes ended up being 40!
22.50 started again
24:00 end

Pros
Lovely staff , entertaining
The acts before the show and card tricks were the best of the whole night!
Very attentive & fab wine! Very generous ( a whole bottle)
Took photo of us at table and printed it
Harry was brilliant, loved the puppet
Glen was so cute
They kept all the kids entertained and tried to do many little things to go above & beyond

Cons
Main speaker Rodney exceptionally difficult to understand
Dragged out way too long
Toilets need a refurb badly
Not a lot of actual magic, no intensity … simple, “fake” magic for lack of better words
If you don’t eat the dinner, you’ve to wait very long for the breaks while everyone else is eating. They offered us a menu AFTER everyone had finished their mains - we had eaten in Houdini’s attic earlier.
Can tell from Tripadvisor pictures they have been doing the same tricks repetitively for years…

Went to the show as a gold ticket customer , couldn't really see the difference between gold and silver tables apart from the price. Go for a silver and get the same meal. It was sold as 7 course ,No it's only 4 course meal ,if you don't like blue tasting cheese you in trouble it was in the starter and then again in the main ,had 2 liters of sangria mite have just had cordial, very week sangria ,the show was ok close magic card trick at the table was good ,but the rest was a bit dated old tricks seen quite a few times before . Venue look good ,you could see the stage everywhere you sat. The toilets definitely need a reverb a little tidying up.
