I went on the morning ride, I was picked up by Rob in a lovely minibus , the views were breath taking and the cycling easy. I am looking forward to booking when we return with my twin boys and girlfriend, its an activity for the whole family regardless of fitness levels. The guides were informative and very entertaining.

Delays at Barcelona-Sants included much longer than usual queues at Renfe ticket kiosks [many non-functioning & those that did work cancelled orders due to software malfunctions]. So, we missed our train to Salou. I immediately eMailed Cycle Tour [through Viator] to notify & apologize. Disappointed & saddened by our situation, we returned to our hotel to re-group. To my pleasant surprise, an eMail [through Viator] reply from the Cycle Tour invited us to join them the next day, since they had openings to accommodate us. In no uncertain terms, I accepted their offer. There was even a second eMail I sent [through Viator] later that afternoon to ask them which train they'd advise to take back to Barcelona. They replied [through Viator] with a specific train departure time so that I could confidently purchased train tickets on-line for the next day, which of course I did. Inferring all was good to go, I did everything I could think of to make sure we were going to make it the next day.

We arrived ahead of time at the designated pick-up location in Salou to meet the Cycle Tour. A representative appeared and reported that they no longer had the space for us to join the excursion. Her explanation of the situation BLAMED VIATOR for failing to relay the eMails to them in time [didn't get my eMails to accept their offer??], so they sold the spaces they offered to us to another party. This explanation made absolutely no sense! Now even more deeply disappointed & saddened, what made it worse was the candy-coated presentation. She was very happy to tell us this wasn't going to work out, but that we could simply go explore Salou for the day instead... oh, and by the way, there'll be no refund because "you missed your train yesterday."

We REALLY looked forward to this but were instead deeply disappointed. Cycle Tour + Viator = Bad Combination. Friendly but Questionable Tour + Abysmal Go-Between Communicator = Ghastly Customer Service. I STRONGLY DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS TO ANYONE!

We went on the afternoon ride on Wednesday 25th July 2018. We were picked up by Nick and went to the meeting up area where we met Ian and the and Rob who talks you through all the safety instructions, Rob is a fantastic character and he gives a fantastic tour. This bike ride is a must to see fantastic views while gliding down a mountain. Great afternoon and we would certainly do the full day the next time.

At the hotel presentation we were told that we would be taken to the mountains in about 25 minutes and then be on our bikes, so if the trip was 4 hours we thought we would have about 3 hours on them, but we didn't we were first taken to an area to choose your bike and learn how to ride it which wasted about an hour and overall it was a bit dull. We didn't stop at any interesting places just rolled down a few hills. We were really looking forward to this trip but if you are a cyclist this isn't for you.

At our various presentations at hotels we clearly explain our TWO cycling packages : Half Day or (For those who enjoy their cycling...) the FULL DAY tour.! Which is very popular with our keen cyclists! Should have done the FULL DAY tour Sir! The good Lord gave us two ears and one mouth for a reason.

We booked the half day morning downhill cycle, and were picked up right outside our hotel by the Guide for the day (Ian) super friendly and enthusiastic right from the start!

Taken to a quiet road to practice the bikes, they also check your speed/ability so they can set you off in small groups on the hills. Excellent job of setting up the bikes, and provided with free water during the day which was a bonus!

After they check your safety and give you a briefing we drove up to the hills, Ian told us all about the area, history and loads of info on the way up. And then we got to the hills and started our downhill cycle.

The roads were fab, they tell you you can go any speed, and we set off in the front faster group, i had to actually slow myself down to enjoy the views!! Which were spectacular. So much to see and the fresh air was fab after coming from a busy resort.

There was some small uphill/pedals required parts on the course which I thought some of the older participants might struggle with, but everyone got back having done the whole cycle, so I guess if you just take it at your own pace then it's pretty much accessible for everyone!

Ended the ride at a little dam with a bar in a small shack! Very rural and quaint, excellent gin! Take some money with you if you want a snack there, ice cream, drinks, crisps etc. And the guides will sell you some local sugar coated hazlenuts which are amazing!

$20 to buy the usb stick with photos from the day on it, we didn't buy this as we had a lot of our own pictures we'd taken during the day.

Overall an excellent day out one of our favourite things about the holiday!

We booked the half day excursion for myself, partner and 5 yr old son. Rob picked us up on time and from the start he was full of chat giving us the history and facts including wildlife, plants, wars, languages and many more interesting areas. He was very knowledgable and entertaining throughout the whole excursion. The bikes were in good working order with a safety brief before setting off. My son was included with an attachment with his own handlebars and pedals to ensure he felt included in the trip.
It does exactly what it says on the tin with the whole trip being downhill and taking in some amazing views.
I would definitely recommend this excursion as a family trip away from the commercial resort and nice to get some lovely photos for the memories.
Definitely would book again and would love to try the full day sometime in the future.

Did the half day down hill with my daughter. Neither of us are experienced cyclists but had a fantastic morning, very exciting and great fun. It's an experience I would strongly recommend to anyone especially with Rob and his enthusiastic team. Definitely do it again. Many thanks chaps
