About
Located on the Costa del Sol, has proven itself as being one of the top marinas in the world. With many restaurants, shopping, attractions and nightlife. It has won the award "Best Marina in the World' several times. The Marina of Benalmadena officially opened in 1979, with the name "Port au Prince" but in1982 was named Puerto Marina Benalmadena. The thing that really stands out about the marina is its unique architecture/design, which has lead to its international recognition especially with our European tourists. Puerto Marina has a huge capacity to moor boats and yachts, with just over 1,000 moorings for boats from many different nationalities. 'Puerto Marina' is one of the Costa del Sol's busiest centres. There are loads of different shops including the shopping centre. On top of it all there is a large choice of quality restaurants. You are spoiled for choice. Fancy a drink or a dance? Or how about hitting a nightclub or pub?

Very enjoyable holiday. Must be hectic when in season
Beautiful town and marina. Lots of fabulous restaurants ( at reasonable prices ) and amazing places to visit. Transport very cheap. Weather a bit uncertain at this time of year. 14 to 21 degrees

    Good for boat spotters
Plenty of different types of boats moored up along the various jetties to admire, from yachts to power boats. You can spend quite some time looking at the various fashion shops, gift shops a d restaurants. The design of the marina is bit like lots of pointy whipped cream.

    Gorgeous marina
This marina is beautiful with plenty of shops, bars and restaurants to suit all ages. You can walk from the marina along the promenade to Torremolinos. This area was lively in February and I would love to return in the summer months to sample more.

    Dolphins
Dolphin watching trip from Benalmadena was excellent. The boat trip from the marina lasted about 2 hours and great value for money ( 19 euros). I’ll let the photos tell the story

    Fabulous hotel
The service from check in to checkout was absolutely 1st class 👏 👌 .The hotel had a relaxed feel , the staff were attentive, nothing was too much trouble, the restaurant was clean and spacious and served food to suit all. The beds were comfortable and we slept soundly due to the secondary glazing. The room was cleaned everyday with clean towels provided. We loved our stay and will be returning for our 3rd visit.

A full nice day in Benalmadena
We have really enjoyed Benalmadena! Our hotel view and near the sea (Best Benalmadena) was ok, though will need to be renovated. Did not use the swimming pool which looks nice. We have been visiting around: great place Puerto Marina. Also nice go up on the hill visited the Butterfly farm and nearby there is a large Buddhist temple, and from the esplanade you can enjoy an excellent view of the city and the sea. Up there also worth visiting is the Pueblo white-washed houses, and traditional architecture. Much more to visit, but for a beginning it is satisfying!

    Beautiful part of Benalmadena
We spent a very enjoyable couple of hours wandering through the marina area of Benalmadena. First, stop a ride in the Ferris Wheel which gave us fantastic views of the marina and surrounding area Then, a pleasant wander through the neighbouring shops restaurants and an occasional drink. A great evening

    Stunning marina!
Puerto Marina in Benalmádena is full of surprises! The architecture is unexpected, with a lot of Arabic influence. It perfectly blends Andalusian white-washed buildings with Arabic arches. It’s stunning! You can find plenty of lovely restaurants and shops here, and more importantly, it connects Benalmádena and Torremolinos. Just follow the promenade and you will be treated to a walk to remember.

    Lively Place with great restaurants
This is a really lively place with so many good restaurants. Great place to stroll around in the evenings or during the day. More lively in the evening, Plenty of shops you can browse. Close to plenty of beaches. We are very lucky to have a beautiful apartment above the metro bar, yes it can be noisy but the double glazing and shutters stop all the noise., The added bonus is that you can sit on the balcony and lap up the atmosphere and just shut the doors for three and quiet. Beautiful marina .

Staying just down the coast we popped over on the bus looking for a quality restaurant for lunch (marina normally means money, hence nice restaurants). Instead found a series of identikit low-end tourist restaurants with staff touting outside to pull in the hordes of package tourists looking for “English” food and a beer. Loud and miserable.

The employees off the cafe where we ate were aggressive and unfriendly. We were constantly interrupted by hawkers, even on the cafe premises.

The area we ate in has a seedy, unpleasant atmosphere and seemed to be patrolled by men acting like they were in the movie Scarface.

An odd place, and not in a good way.

Had a look when we visited SEA LIFE on a sunny January afternoon. The moment I saw men from restaurants standing outside waving menu cards and unhappy tourists sitting at restaurants, I knew enough. I can imagine you will experience this place differently when you have a boat here, but I found it to be one big tourist trap. On the plus side: parking is only €1, so good to know when you visit SEA LIFE.

We visited this lovely hotel for the 1st time last March. We had booked another hotel in the area, where we had visited numerous times. The hotel had not opened and we were offered this hotel.
The hotel is wonderful in many ways. Super location, all the staff are amazing.
We have found the hotel very clean, our room was very spacious and spotless.
The staff at reception will do anything to help and advise you.
We stayed on a half board basis and found the food varied, fresh and overall great value. The times of the meals were really great and in the lovely dining room, all the staff were wonderful.
We felt very comfortable, safe and very well looked after.
The deputy manager was also visible, we I also noticed the chef coming out and checking the food, on an evening.
We shall definitely be coming again, to a lovely room overlooking the pool.

A big tourist attraction and worth finding, but the restaurants are more expensive on the marina, we found much better quality and value if you just wander a little distance away.
Plenty to see and do here with lots of pressure from p.r. guys to join them. Plenty of watersports, we can recommend the ferry to Fingarola. Some of the independent shops are worth a look and superior to the souvenir tat you find in most of the tourist shops in this area.

We had looked forward to the marina but were very disapointed. The who place is run down and in need of a revamp. The restuarants have very little that is Spanish about them. many are run by the same chain and were very unapertizing. We did eat at one our 2nd night but never went back as they were 15-20% more expensive than those on the seafront. Genrally lots of touts for restuarants or boat trips made me feel uncomftable.

Our 2nd visit in 3 years and we were really disappointed. When visiting here last time,we were met at the gates by chickens, roosters, hens and rabbits but this year it was dozens of pigeons. The lake was a disgusting green colour,im surprised the terrapins and fish are still alive in it. We were disappointed that the donkeys had gone. Although the walks around the park are great, its lost some of its charm.

Fantastic place to visit lots to do and see.

Very clean town alot of sales people in the street but once told not interested in any of the items moved on.

Resturant staff also move on sales people if they enter your seated areas of a restaurant.

Lovely views!

If you are in the area then it’s worth popping in for a couple of hours , maybe longer if you are planning to eat however most of the food outlets are overpriced and offering average food . Nothing authentic about it . Shops are similarly overpriced. You could be in a marina anywhere in the world

We came here 3 years ago and just spent the day here, we came back this week after 3 years due to covid and spent many days here, loads of restaurants and other places to eat and drink, plenty of seafood restaurants of that's what you like, loads of shops to cater for all budgets and plenty of boat trips operating from here.

There are some kids play areas, sealife centre and other entertainment to keep the children entertained aswell as the beach and sea of course which is situated on both sides of the marina.

Loads of taxis available, car parking is good too we spent 6 hours here and charged €6 euros.
