About
Located on the Costa del Sol, has proven itself as being one of the top marinas in the world. With many restaurants, shopping, attractions and nightlife. It has won the award "Best Marina in the World' several times. The Marina of Benalmadena officially opened in 1979, with the name "Port au Prince" but in1982 was named Puerto Marina Benalmadena. The thing that really stands out about the marina is its unique architecture/design, which has lead to its international recognition especially with our European tourists. Puerto Marina has a huge capacity to moor boats and yachts, with just over 1,000 moorings for boats from many different nationalities. 'Puerto Marina' is one of the Costa del Sol's busiest centres. There are loads of different shops including the shopping centre. On top of it all there is a large choice of quality restaurants. You are spoiled for choice. Fancy a drink or a dance? Or how about hitting a nightclub or pub?

It is so much fun to just wander along the Marina, looking at the shops and all the restaurants and just people watch.

Had a look when we visited SEA LIFE on a sunny January afternoon. The moment I saw men from restaurants standing outside waving menu cards and unhappy tourists sitting at restaurants, I knew enough. I can imagine you will experience this place differently when you have a boat here, but I found it to be one big tourist trap. On the plus side: parking is only €1, so good to know when you visit SEA LIFE.

This big marina has 1100 moorings for boats of all nationalities and has been one of Costa del Sol’s busiest centers.

We have been here many times before. This time it was very quiet. Many bars and shops were closed. The open ones tried to pull in the few people walking past.

It was sad to see that the pandemic has done its job also here.

Puerto Marina Benalmádena is a really popular tourist destination that's a must go area of this sun drenched resort.
Lots to see here ,to start with the architecture is superb, slightly modern for my taste but beautiful all the same ,the marina area is fantastic, the amount of yachts moored up here is so impressive, bet it costs megabucks to stay here ,there's also plenty of retail outlets here, no interest to me ,detest the thought of shopping while on holiday, of more interest to me are the pubs, bars and restaurants around the marina, visited some cool pubs here ,September weather was awesome, mid 90's, sitting outside Mollies Irish Bar with an iced cold bottle of Mahou green beer was super, all in all its a wonderful area of Benalmádena to check out if your in Benalmádena.

Nice small harbour where you find a lot of small shops and restaurants. Some boats are here to go fishing or on a dolphin trip.
