We found this little heaven several years ago and can't stop returning, be it for the family ski holidays of summer mountain adventures. The town is unspoilt and retains its French Alpine soul and character.
We are lucky enough to always hire the same Chalet and have found it a true home from home.
I'm sure we as a family will continue to return to Saint Gervais for many more years to come.

We have skied here for 10 years now, from when our children were much younger.

We have seen many improvements over the years, especially improvements to the chair lifts and gondolas. It's nice to see the cost of the lift passes put back into improving the area.

The car park is free from the gondala up to Le Bettex.

Saint Gervais town is also very nice, with many restaurants and shops, including a supermarket.

This is our favourite place!

This is a great ski area if you have the snow! Fortunately we did, it snowed every day we were there. However, this is not the highest ski area with many of the runs around the 1800-2000 metres dropping down to 1400 meters. Thus, if you are unlucky with the weather, there may not be a huge amount of runs open. Saint Gervais town is around 850 meters thus you need pretty consistent snow to be able to ski right back to town. Nevertheless, with the right conditions this has runs to suite all abilities. I would certainly return again.

Loved Saint Gervais, with so much to offer. Very picturesque
and fantastic accommodation and slopes. Would, however, steer well clear of ESF ski lessons if you are a beginner.

Amazing skiing in this area. We come every year and are never let down. So much to do, and more of a village feel rather than a resort style.

First time at this resort and found it very enjoyable to ski with kids.there was a gang of us with lots of kids (11-16 yr olds) of varying ability There are lots of blue and green runs so there was lots of choices for the less experienced members of the group. There was also good options for off piste so everyone was catered for...
A few of the lifts are very old and it could do with some upgrades but there were no queues and the slopes were quiet even on Saturday.
The commute to GVA is also very good at less than 90 mins so it's definitely a resort for consideration. We'll definitely be back.

We enjoy coming here because of the ESF ski school and easy lockers at the top and few cafes which are good. It can get very busy during holidays and the queue up can take a good 20 minutes to the gondolas.

Huge ski area, uncrowded slopes, excellent lift staff . Great food stops, from 1960's airstream caravan to Folie Douce .

Great lift system with huge investment including another new 6 man chair , snow cannons meaning you can ski down to the village for a good part of the season. Another new 6 man lift is being fitted next year

From a skiing perspective, I loved some runs (Mont Joly and the higher runs - lots of nice steep runs) but wasn't as thrilled with the tree runs although I can see those being better in bad weather. Lift system is either good or miserable. Some lifts are awful and slow. Others are nicely done but nothing like you'll find in some of the better resorts in Europe.

Again, Mont Joly was great - beautiful runs and amazing views of Mont Blanc. If you can manage it, park at San Nicolas de Veroce. You'll have to stomach a brutally slow lift to get started but then you can work your way over to Croix de Christ and go up. Better than starting in Saint Gervais les Bains. A lot less work.

Snow patrol and rescue was very helpful and great. Wish I didn't know from first hand experience but...

We stayed near the Bettex lift in Saint Gervais. For two days the lift taking you up was out of action meaning big queues for buses. Even when working there are big queues at life and it is badly organised. Be aware that they close most lifts by 5:15 pm so if you miss the last bubble from Megeve to Saint Gervais then there is no option but for a very expensive taxi ride back because buses stop at 5pm!
